Abstract
abstract Model of Educational for Sustainable Development (ESD) Insight-Based Pre Literacy Learning Media Current environmental conditions are declining or experiencing degradation both in quality and quantity. This is in line with the increase in human activities in meeting the needs that tend to try to obtain the maximum benefit without regard to the preservation of environmental and social aspects. It is necessary to have a holistic understanding of the use of the environment in meeting human needs to always strive to create a balance between meeting needs with the preservation of the natural environment. Thus meeting the needs of the present can be met without reducing the quality and quantity for meeting the needs of future generations. ESD is a holistic approach that is not just a process of providing knowledge about sustainability or environmental issues, but, rather, the challenge of changing peoples mindsets and actions (Weber at UNESCO, 2012). This is what is meant by the mindset of thinking about Educational Sustainable Development (ESD). ESD mindset formation will be very appropriate if done from an early age because at this age a variety of growth and development begins and lasts, which will be the basis for further child development. The introduction of ESD from an early age is expected to provide understanding and build awareness of the surrounding environment from an early age, so that it will encourage the empowerment of children in interacting with the natural environment, social environment and economic environment. Pre-literacy is an important ability for children to develop the ability to interact with the natural, social and economic environment. The ability of pre-literacy for early childhood is done by preparing a literacy environment through various ways and various media that are interesting and in accordance with the principles and ways of early childhood learning. Therefore, ESD-oriented pre-literacy learning media are needed to build an ESD mindset early on through pre-literacy skills in preparing children for further education. The three pillars in ESD are packaged in a package of learning models for ESD-oriented pre-literacy series which includes: (1) Learning Media Love the Environment; (2) Economic Smart Learning Media Model; (3) Socially Smart Learning Media. Model package The learning media of ESD-oriented pre-literacy series consists of model scripts, story book media, motion media and songs, as well as ladder snake media games, which are equipped with guidelines for their use. Story book, motion and song media as well as ladder snake games are supplements for learning activities with ESD insight. The three media complement each other in building ESD-oriented pre literacy capabilities. This model is focused on children 5-6 year The development activities of this model trial have been carried out through two stages, namely conceptual testing and operational testing. The trial locations used were (1) Alam Pelopor Kindergarten in Bandung Regency, (2) PAUD Kartina Garut Regency, (3) PAUD Almarhamah, Cimahi City. Based on the trial results, the advantages of ESD-oriented pre-literacy learning media models are (1) enriching vocabulary mastery in children, (2) interesting and fun learning processes, (3) fostering positive characters related to the ability to interact with the natural, social and economic environment, (3) the availability of media for the preparation of a literacy environment in PAUD. Abstract

Abstract
This research aims to discuss parents- involvement in early childhood literacy development. It stems from the importance of parents- roles in early childhood activities, especially those that develop literacy. So far, research on children development paradigm by looking at the factors within the family as an asset has not been investigated in the context of Indonesian culture. Therefore, research on parents- effort in early childhood literacy development needs to be conducted. This research employs qualitative approach which is study case by examining five parents as the participants. Interview and observation are employed to collect the data. Then, the data is analyzed through grounded theory technique. Bronfenbrener ecological theory is served as the framework to discuss the problems and understand the data presented in this research. The results of the study indicate that parents- roles are tangible in early childhood literacy development. The conclusion can be drawn as follows: 1) parents perform literacy activities, for example, memorizing, using media and providing literacy-rich surroundings 2) supporting factors such as parents- motivation is associated with parents- involvement with the demand of school readiness and positive belief of the importance of early childhood education. The problems consist of unbalance roles between the parents, physical factor, and 3) the collaboration between the parents and school is actualized in the forms of meetings, giving information, creating parents- coordinator, and communicating between the parents and teachers. Parents must be able to take part in children-s activities in order to modify them into the stimulus that develops children-s literacy

Abstract
Indonesia is one of the largest sending countries for migrant workers. In 2018 one of the news revealed that Indonesia was crowned as the 2nd most country in ASEAN as a sender of migrant workers after the Philippines. These migrant workers usually go to work leaving their families, especially their children. In the vulnerable BNP2TKI between 2011 and January 2018, the placement of migrant workers from Indonesia was 60% dominated by women. Not a few of them left children who were still early. The absence of parents especially mothers in early childhood growth certainly affects the development of the children who are left behind. This study will explore the perspective of a husband/father left by his wife working as a migrant worker and leaving early childhood to be cared for by his father. This research is an exploratory research with ethnographic study design that uses a qualitative approach. The main data collection techniques in this study were observation and in-depth interviews with respondents who were selected purposively. Respondents of this study are the father/husband who is the primary caregiver of their children with vulnerable children aged 4-6 years, amounting to 5-10 people. This research is expected to provide qualitative information that can be used as a basis for developing a fathers parenting intervention program, especially in Sukabumi, to then be replicated in various other regions.

Abstract
A Character is an attitude that has been imprinted in a person and has become a habit in everyday life. A character can be used as a benchmark between good and bad. Goodness can be realized if instilled the values of commendable characters. Conversely, it can result in badness if what is instilled is deplorable character values. Therefore, the inculcation of commendable character values is highly recommended, even required to produce excellent personalities and moral mercy. The most appropriate and effective cultivation of character values for early childhood is to use educational games, because the childs world is to play, and childrens play is a childs learning activity. Through educational games, children can play while learning to develop their potential and instill character values in early childhood.

Abstract
Terrorism prevention is often focused on adolescents, even though it is true that the use of children in terrorist acts is a global issue. Few studies do discuss the prevention of terrorism in early childhood, a critical phase or golden age that is instrumental in the formation of a child-s character. This research is a case study that is developed based on the emergence of nursery books in Indonesia containing radical words, such as "bomb", "jihad", "bantai” (slaughter) which have been the subject for developing the Anti-Violence Movement at School policy. It is a policy analysis that aims to provide critical input for policy improvement, which is especially pertinent given the lack of existing research on the subject matter in Indonesia. The data are analysed using Bell and Stevenson (2013) framework for policy analysis, which has four analytical themes concerning the translation from policy development to enactment. Based on the analysis, it is found that terrorism prevention through early childhood education (ECE) policy in Indonesia is vague in its meaning and objectives, as well as fails to define the basic notion of “terrorism” itself. The government expects the policy to be a community-led movement, but it turns out that the implementation is still characterised by a top-down approach. At the enactment phase, ECE centres see no urgency in integrating the policy with their centres vision and mission, because they believe that the policy will not last sustainably at its operation. Surprisingly, the government does not provide any specific training for teachers, nor the budget to implement the policy.

Abstract
Since 2002, the number of institutions for Early Childhood Education(ECE) in Indonesia has rapidly expanded in quantity. However, those increase in quantity does not guarantee an improvement in the quality of ECE institutions. There are various kinds of ECE institutions in Indonesia, such as kindergarten, day care school, community preschool, religious schools and so on. Moreover Indonesia is a vast country with many islands, many races, and many cultures. So, the quality differentials of Indonesias ECE institutions also varies, such as the size of school and operation of the institutions and programs are also diverse. In order to evaluate and improve the quality of those various ECE institutions, Indonesian government had launched a government-affiliated organization that is National Association of Accreditation for ECE and non-formal education in 2006. However, there are many voices on the site of an ECE institutes that they do not know how to prepare for accreditation due to lack of information on accreditation. For improvement of quality ECE institutions, this paper is argued that training and guides for institutions should be preceded the implementation of accreditation so that they can improve quality themselves.

In fact, musrenbang (= development planning workshop) is start since rembug warga (= neighbourhood meeting) declared. This meeting aimed to identify and collect relevant data and information related to community need and expectation. In 2017, Bandung municipal is piloting e-musrenbang, as an application to assist BAPPEDA as a planning bureau to gather all necessary data source from neighbourhood meeting mechanism. Abstract
Every educator and parent needs good information about how and what children learn. In contemporary kindergarten classrooms, children-s literacy abilities are often assessed by tests used to determine a child-s ‘readiness- for school. Readiness often means letter identification, phonemic awareness, letter-writing, and other functions related to language mechanics. Furthermore, language development and emergent literacy have long been launched for research, with the results of research many assessment procedures have been developed not only for use in research, but also for research and education purposes. This study aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective conversation book and authentic assessment instrument format that can be used by teachers in improving the assessment process in learning. The researcher used the ADDIE Research steps, while the ADDIE research and development procedure consisted of five stages which included analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.

Abstract
This paper starts from the perspective that reading is a childs understanding related to symbols, sounds, vocabulary, sentences in printed form. Reading readiness becomes part of the stages of reading development, by developing a basic understanding of letters and sound before formal reading learning begins at school. Then the researchers traced the first brief explanation of the views in reading readiness. Second, explain the meaning of reading readiness and describe the components of reading readiness for early childhood. Based on examples that can help researchers in illustrating this paper then as part of the conclusions researchers speculate about the next steps for future research.

Abstract
Stunting – the failure to reach one-s potential for growth – is caused by chronic malnutrition and repeated illness during childhood. It reflects the cumulative effects of chronic malnutrition during the 1,000 first days of life, and also associated with lack of education, poverty, less healthy, and more vulnerable to non-communicable diseases and is indicative of a poor quality of life that negatively affects the nation-s human resources. Globally, Indonesia ranks fifth in terms of stunting. According to the Global Nutrition Report 2014 (based on data from 117 countries), Indonesia is one of the 17 countries with three major malnutrition problems: stunting, wasting and obesity. The 2018 National health Research (Riskesdas), shows that 30.8% children under five in Indonesia experience stunting, which is down when compared to Riskesdas 2013 data, that is 37.2%. In 2017, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla called for a National Strategy to Accelerate Stunting Prevention. The strategy, supported by the World Bank, was built on Indonesia-s experience and global lessons, particularly Peru-s success cutting its stunting rate by half in just seven years.

Abstract
One of sustainable development target in education sector is to ensure that all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and preprimary education. The government must provide free and enforced preprimary education for at least one year with professional educators who can provide learning practices that can stimulate childrens development and accommodate the needs of sustainable development. One learning practices that meets those criteria is through science learning. This paper aims to portray factual conditions associated to achieve SDG targets. Four teachers from four different kindergartens in Tasikmalaya were selected to participate in this study. Data was collected by semi structured interviewed, and observation. The findings prove that the quantity of children participation in early childhood education has increased, but the supply of human resource has not well adjusted yet. The consequence teachers that involve in ECE do not have criteria of professionalism. Even the teachers who have professionalism criteria still face the problem in implementing the good quality learning especially in science. As teachers are a critical circumstance for guaranteeing quality education, teachers should be empowered, given training hat are equitable, sufficiently recruited and paid, professionally qualified, and sustained within well-resourced.

Abstract
Science learning in early childhood is very important to develop all aspects of child development. Learning about science will encourage children to be more creative and critical, but based on our exploration study, there are some problems in science learning. The most crucial problem is the lack of teacher competence in teaching science that is appropriate to children development. Story and Science Experiment to Develop Scientific Attitude of Children is a model to solve that problem. Story in this model is a short story which describes the process of science. Science experiment is an activity doing by the children to practice the process of science. A scientific attitude can be defined as way of viewing things, a curiosity to know how and why things happen with an open mind and governed by facts. There are six scientific attitudes that are developed in this model, they are curiosity, creativity, problem solving, confidence, environmental awareness, and cooperation. This model has twenty stories and science experiments, they are written in 20 flip charts. This model was tried out on 100 Kindergarten respondents, that are divided into experiment and control group. The result of this try out showed that, this model was effective to develop scientific attitude. Based on t independent test, the t value is 12,511 with the p-value 0,000. Because of the p-value 0,000 <  (0,05), so it could be concluded that there is a significant deference of scientific attitude between experiment and control group after using Story and Science Experiment to Develop Scientific Attitude of Children Model. This model has been implemented in some Early Childhood Education Institutions in Central Java.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Parents have only recently felt the importance of Early Childhood Education in the coastal and archipelago areas. Early childhood education is the key to the successful development of children in the future. In this research paper, the things that will be discussed are about the involvement of parents in the learning process of children (parenting), and what skills a child needs in kindergarten, as well as the ability of teachers to make books as creative and attractive learning media for children — developed through learning based on reading stories early on. Therefore, real and sustained emotional ties are established. In early childhood education, there is one of the essential skills possessed by children, because it becomes the primary determinant for success or failure of the school, namely the vocabulary of children before entering school. A schoolboy indeed learns new words, but the words he knows determines how well he can understand what his teacher is saying. because most instructions for the first four years of school take the form of oral, children who have the most extensive vocabulary will understand it faster, while children with minimal vocabulary are the most difficult children to digest the information obtained. Based learning to read stories early with the read-aloud method is an effective way to optimize the awareness of teachers and parents of their involvement in educating children. The usefulness in this method is more than just reading stories, but parents, teachers, and children spend time together loving and sharing each other. Especially for parents, teachers, and children in coastal and archipelago areas, the location and culture of this method is very appropriate to their character, where people who live near the coast tend to produce high-pitched and fast tones. so that this method can be applied in coastal and island areas. So in this study, the method to be used is action research, which aims to improve classroom learning by involving parents and teachers to read stories early on to children using the read-aloud method. The problem that will be discussed in this research is how to build emotional closeness between parents and children through the approach of reading stories early on ?.. What is the method used to make children happy when the teacher or parent reads the story?. What is the process of enhancing childrens understanding through learning to read stories by using read-aloud methods ?.. What is the result of the development of stimulus to read stories early on in the process of understanding learning in school ?... The usefulness of this research is that books become an attractive learning medium for children, making children have enough vocabulary so that children more easily digest information while learning in school through learning based on reading stories early on with the read-aloud method.

Abstract
This study aims to explore the role of parents and community to strengthen children literacy. This study using participatory action research (PAR). Data collection are using interview, observation and documentation. This study conducted in Landak and Manggarai Barat, part of Wahana Visi Indonesia area program. The interview is conducted to tutors, parents, and village officer. The result of the study describe that the role of parents assists children literacy through assisting children creating reading corner and by interaction with children after storytelling or reading a book. The support of community, including the availability of reading camp can increase parents- awareness of children literacy. The inhibiting factors of strengthening support children literacy is when parents do not have enough time to support the children and parents have a low literacy competency to assist children. It seems that, when children have access to early childhood education, it may affect parent-s self-efficacy towards their children literacy. Interestingly, parents also have a more positive behavior to be more patient as they know children development stages during assisting children literacy.

Abstract
Growing body of evidence has found Early Childhood Education (ECE) gives longer-term beneficial effect on student-s cognitive ability. Unfortunately, in developing countries, and especially other low-resources environment, too few children have a privilege to attend ECE. Using INOVASI large-scale longitudinal datasets, this study presents the inequality issue of accessing ECE and its effect on student-s learning outcomes in Indonesia. The finding suggests that participation rate in ECE is significantly higher in more developed provinces. It is mainly dominated by students from better off economic background, and more well-educated and caring parents. The gap has been also revealed on student-s learning achievement in which children participating in ECE have substantially better outcomes compared to their counterpart. Students who did not enrol in ECE may lose almost two years of learning. This evidence suggests that the government needs to improve access to ECE and its quality particularly for less disadvantaged children in remote areas. Lack of concern on this issue will produce a wider inequality in education.

Abstract
Industry revolution 4.0 encourages people to develop their skills, for instance literacy skills. English literacy is needed since people should be able to participate globally which might be commenced in Early Childhood Education (ECE). English instruction for non-native young learners needs numerous methods to deliver the materials in a proper way, purposely in pre-reading instruction for young learners in preparing school readiness. Pre-reading skill would be emphasised on introduction of English letter-s sound as a foundation in developing reading skill in the future. This article unpacks teaching practices in English pre-reading skill to young learners which involve children as a role model for their peers. It uses qualitative descriptive study which involves four and five year-old-children. It reveals that student-s interference in English instruction of pre-reading skill is able to assist them in comprehending concept of English letter-s sound, to increase the student-s confidence in learning English, to improve their fluency in English, and to create contextual environment of learning.
