Abstract
Minapadi is fish farming in the fields along with rice cultivation. Minapadi cultivation can increase income and increase soil and water fertility. The study aims to determine the responses of several rice varieties in Minapadi cultivation, in the hope of increasing farmers income both from rice production and from fish production. The study was conducted in Samberembe, Candibinangun, Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta in March until August 2018. The research is arranged factorial with the first factor is the cultivation system: minapadi and ugadi (shrimp with rice), the second factor is 4 rice varieties: red Sembada, Inpar 30, Inpari 43, and Inpari 42. The results showed that the evaluated rice varieties differ from each other according to their genetic potential which was influenced by their growing environment. There were significant differences in all parameters (plant height, number of tillers, leaf length, leaf width, panicle length, number of filled grains and hollow per panicle, weight of 100 grains and productivity) both in the treatment of varieties and cultivation systems and their interactions. The average productivity in minapadi cultivation was higher (7.79 tons / ha) than ugadi cultivation (7.24 tons / ha). The highest average productivity was achieved by Inpari 43 (8.07 tons / ha) followed by Inpari 42 (7.49 tons / ha) and Sembada variety (7.49 tons / ha), the lowest achieved by Inpari 30 (7, 00 tons / ha)

Abstract
The implementation of the Village Fund policy has brought a significant changes. The villages previously receiving a very limited budget managed centrally by the higher level of government have now been given a relatively bigger budget and authority for independent management. Most of the fund has been used for infrastructure activities accounting for 75,6% (Prakosa, 2017). The transparent use of Village Fund for physical development realized in the last few years (2015 to 2017), did not meet the quality of infrastructure in supporting facilities and infrastructure. This study was aimed to evaluate the implementation of village road infrastructure related to village funding. This research was conducted in the three villages (Gondang, Kertanegara and Karanggambas) of Purbalingga Regency. Data were obtained from surveys, observations, interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods in four steps namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that (1) The three villages have not fully implemented village planning in accordance with Permendagri No. 114 of 2014, (2) The road damage rate of Gondang village in 2015 was 6,627%, asphalt road in 2016 was 10,680%, asphalt road in 2017 was 19,274%, Karanggambas Village Road in 2015 was 16,938%, asphalt road in 2016 was 14,635%, asphalt road in 2017 was 1,019%, and Kertanegara Village Road road concrete rebates in 2016 was 5,972%, concrete rebate road in 2017 was 7,200%, asphalt road in 2017 was 5,604%, (3) The commitment and quality of human resources (village head, PTPKD, BPD, PPHP) had an effect on the success of the implementation of infrastructure planning and development, (4) There was a low the level of maintenance of infrastructure ( village road) by local community.

Abstract
Along with advances in technology in the digital era brought many changes in relations between people, also has a role in the level of social and cultural, including in the realm of religion. A distinctive feature of the digital era that eliminates borders is in fact making private spaces in a pluralistic community in cyberspace. The cyberspace community contains those who have the same thoughts and beliefs and tend to talk about the same thing. This article tries to see a phenomenon called Echo Chambers through the perspective of Stella Ting-Toomey Intercultural Communication Theory. This study shows that the development of social media was also followed by the shadow of Echo Chambers. The tendency to isolate oneself and associate with those who understand one another will create separate spaces between one religion and another. As a result, communication which is an effort to eliminate the polarization of the differences between "Us" and "The Others" is precisely the way to form an exclusivism in cyberspace. Among the efforts to anticipate the emergence of a gap is to create melting-pot spaces in the real world. Counter narrative also needs to be built to open these exclusive barriers. Muslim scholars sought to introduce the importance of communication in achieving the harmony in community. Some Ulama have also explained the role and function of communication in achieving the goals of the ummah, as well as trying to provide an Islamic perspective regarding communication behavior. More important, is to create a person who is a wise, open user of social media and uses epoche in looking at the world outside.

Abstract
Short-term exchange programs present great opportunities for students to gain international experience, while experiencing other countries and cultures. These programs are often coupled with excursion and touristic experience, which belongs to the realm of educational tourism or ‘edu-tourism-. This paper aims to discuss the expectations and anxieties experienced by the related stakeholders to short-term exchange programs prior to departure, namely the students themselves, the school teachers and administrators, as well as the parents. The study focuses on a two-week exchange program in which a group of eight Indonesians students from Bali will take part in an edutourism experience in Germany. Using both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, this study seeks to identify the involved Indonesian parties- expectations and anxieties towards the exchange and how international experience has an influence on their perception. The study found that the expectations of students, parents and teachers can be clustered into personal development, learning about the language and culture as well as the enjoyment of the trip. As for anxieties, major concerns were the ability to cope with the language and culture, problems in everyday life as well as personal health. In between the groups, differences regarding the importance of some expectations and anxieties were observed. Additionally, the groups- international experience played an important role relating to their perception and had an influence on their expectations and anxieties.

Abstract
English language has been experiencing a paradigm shift due to its global spread, and the advances in research and practice in the disciplines, such as World Englishes and English as a Lingua Franca. The present study explores the use of English in Australia based on the perspectives of Indonesian international students. Drawing upon three elements of expectations, perceptions, and strategies, the researcher attempts to capture the whole picture of English varieties in an Australian higher education context. Two methods, demographic questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews, were employed to gather data from fifteen Indonesian international students studying in Melbourne, Australia. Data obtained from three universities in Australia and were discovered that expectations, perceptions, and strategies of Indonesian international students were varied due to limited awareness regarding English varieties, culture gaps between Australia and Indonesia, and the role of self-reflections. It is hoped that this study may shed light on people understanding of the challenges, experiences and the general wellbeing of international students who choose to study in Australia for their tertiary education.

Abstract
This study discusses the experience of female legislative candidates in the candidate selection process in Indonesian political parties in the 2019 legislative elections. The existence of different backgrounds starting from the electoral district (electoral district), social, political and economic capital of female candidates will affect the experience of In entering the political world, the female candidates especially the candidate selection process. This study argues that the rules held by political parties for the stages of candidate selection still do not favor women and gender bias, so they often harm female candidates. Based on these arguments, the experience of candidate selection against female candidates can be seen as an important stage that is also complex and needs to be seen with a deeper explanation. Using qualitative research methods with a feminist perspective, this study aims to explore the experiences of women in the candidate selection process, as well as analyze the motivation and background of female candidates who then become determinants of the success of the female candidates.

Abstract
This article is intended to theoretically analyze experiential learning as one of the approaches based on human experiences in Islamic education. Further, it explains the experiential learning steps applied in Islamic education. As critically shown, many settings of Islamic education practices have longer been considered as normative, verbalistic and un-contextual. Values teaching as emphasized by this subject have been too theoretic and cognitive-oriented while affective dimensions have generally been ignored. In addition, coincided with the strongly theoretical orientation, learning methods applied are likely to promote one-way communication by which teachers are mostly dominant in knowledge transformation. As a result, students are placed as objects as well as passive learners. This article further explores the experiential learning processes where those students are able to experience, express, explore/discuss, conclude and implement relevant knowledge. This type of learning is possible for students to be active and directly involved in their dynamic classes. Through these experiential activities, the Islamic teaching can be more interesting and fun for both students and teachers.

Abstract
The characteristic of natural convection heat transfer in a thermally asymmetric cavity is influenced by temperature differences and space between the heat source and cavity wall. The heat source is any bluff body placed inside the cavity. This research used a heated elliptic tube as the heat source inside the cavity. The three tubes are of 2.5 aspect ratio (AR) in a vertically aligned arrangement. The cavity was thermally asymmetric because three sides of the cavity were insulated while the other side was exposed to convection with ambient air. The clearance ratio (CR) as the ratio between the gap from the insulated wall to the major axis of the tubes to the space of the cavity is varied 0.4 and 0.6. while the pitch ratio is constant at 3.5a. this study analyzes the characteristics of heat transfer from the surface of the elliptical tube to the surrounding air experimentally and numerically. The result reveals that the highest heat transfer coefficient 0f 0.4 CR is higher than that of 0.6 CR. The numerical solution shows the contour and streamlines of the fluid flow in all conditions as the characteristics of natural transfer thermally asymmetric cavity.

Abstract
The experiment on flow pattern of gas-liquid two-phase flow in 45o inclined capillary channel were carried-out. The research was conducted in 1.6 mm inner diameter glass pipe. The range of gas superficial velocity was 0.025 - 66.3 m/s, while that of liquid was 0.033 - 4.935 m/s. The gas fluid was represented by dry air, while that of liquid was glycerol-aqua solution in various percentage, i.e. 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% indexed by W, GL10, GL20, and GL30, respectively. The addition of glycerin to the liquid phase was intended to vary the liquid viscosities. The high-speed camera was used to capture the two-phase flow. The captured video images were then analyzed to obtain the flow pattern. As a result, it was found that both gas and liquid superficial velocities affect significantly to the two-phase flow pattern observed. Five flow patterns, namely: plug, bubbly, slug-annular, churn, and annular were observed, while the stratified flow was not obtained. On the other hand, the change of liquid viscosity affects to the shift of the transition line between flow patterns in the flow pattern map

Abstract
The Philippines is considered to have one of the worst land tenure problems in the world (Vargas, 2003). Agricultural families have more poverty incidence than non-agricultural households in the Philippines where land access is limited for poor farmers and agricultural tenancy is still the common practice (Ravanera, 2017). Agriculture remains as the main source of livelihood for Filipinos in rural areas, thus access to land is a necessity in alleviating poverty and attainment of food security. People are considered food secure when they have availability and adequate access at all times to sufficient, safe, nutritious food to maintain a healthy and active life (Word Food Program, n.d.) Food security has four main dimensions: 1) food availability; 2) food access; 3) food utilization; and 4) stability (Burchi et.al., 2011). This study explores the association of land tenure to food access in selected barangays in the municipality of Pigcawayan situated in the North Cotabato province of the Mindanao peninsula. The Municipality of Pigcawayan is a highly agricultural area where the main crops are rice and corn. The three barangays covered in the study were North Manuangan, Bulu-an and Bulucaon. North Manuangan and Bulu-an are generally peaceful areas. North Manuangan, however, is near Liguasan marsh where the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) traverse to get to their camps. Thus, farming in these two barangays is occasionally affected by military and rebel conflicts. Bulucaon, on the other hand, is a flood prone area adjacent to conflict areas where hostage takings happen from time to time. More frequent disruptions in farming activities occur in this barangay. Using the chi square test of association on land tenure variables (zero harvest payment agreement, confidence in tenancy, range of number of sacks sold, and percent payment) and food variables (experience hunger with no money, experience credit for food, and days without enough food), results showed a significant association at alpha 0.05 between zero harvest payment agreement and confidence in tenancy with days without enough food. At alpha 0.10, results showed a significant association between zero harvest payment agreement and confidence in tenancy with experience hunger with no money and days without enough food. Based on the focus group discussion conducted on 56 respondents, the study showed that while the farmers can eat three times a day, their access to food can only be sustained if they would continuously work, even on land recovery days, in order to generate enough income to buy food for household consumption.

Abstract
Pre-service teachers taking a teaching training program may hold different motives in choosing a career path as a teacher. The present study aims at investigating the types of motivation to choose a career as a teacher among participants from a teacher training program in a private university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A 24-item questionnaire was distributed to 14 respondents (N=14) to see the types of motivation the pre-service teachers had in their career choice and which was the dominant one. Of the result of the questionnaire, four students with the highest motivational level were purposefully selected to participate in a focus group interview and asked to describe their motivation to be English teachers. The findings indicated that the pre-service EFL teachers were dominantly motivated by altruistic and intrinsic motives in choosing to be EFL teachers. Extrinsic motivation, on the other hand, seemed to bring the least contribution in the pre-service teachers- decision to take teaching as a profession. Implications and future recommendations were offered.

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is twofold. The first is to analyze the performance of TransJogja Bus: load factor and travel speed. The second is to identify the behavior of its passengers: passengers characteristics (age, gender, income, vehicle and driving license ownership), trip characteristic (trip purpose, origin destination point, access and egress mode to the bus stop, frequency of use), and the tolerable and expected waiting time. The data was obtained from the passenger boarding and alighting counting survey and on bus based interview survey involving 703 passengers. The survey was carried out from August to October 2017 on seventeen routes of TransJogja Bus. The results show that the load factor of TransJogja Bus only reaches 17.35%, consisting of 23.75% and 9% on the existing routes (1A to 4B) and the new routes (5A to 11) respectively. Meanwhile, the average bus journey speed is 20.35 km/h. Looking into the characteristics of passengers, TransJogja Bus passengers are dominated by women and young people aged less than 20 years old. This finding is linearly correlated to the trip purpose showing that most of the passengers use TransJogja Bus for a trip to school, to work, and for a recreational purpose by 39%, 18.5%, and 13.2% consecutively. Forty-three percent passengers choose to use TransJogja Bus because of the unavailability of private vehicle mode (captive users). The passengers also stated that the expected waiting time is 11 minutes and the tolerable waiting time is 22 minutes. Finally, this paper proposes some policies to increase the demand of TransJogja Bus by referring to our research findings.

Abstract
This research is aimed at exploring the roles of the head of department as the middle level manager in higher education institution in the quality assurance of teaching and learning especially in the Indonesian context. This research is significance as research on the role of middle level manager in higher education are less found especially in quality assurance of teaching and learning. This research focuses on the management strand of quality assurance (c.f. Steinhardt et al. 2017). The role of the middle level managers are seen from the activities of the managers in the stages of quality assurance of teaching and learning (c.f. Elton, 1995) and the support to the presage and process dimension of quality teaching and learning (Gibbs, 2010). In addition, the concept of tactical/middle-level management is analysed from an organisation structure perspective (c.f. Turbino et al., 2013). Data were collected from documents analysis and interviews to seven heads of departments and a head of Centre for Teaching and Learning in the universitys. The findings show that the role of middle level managers in quality assurance of teaching and learning fell under seven categories such as (i) translating university vision into concrete benchmark, (ii) empowering subordinates and building partnership with other parties, (iii) monitoring and controlling quality teaching and learning, (iv) planning, managing, evaluating programs for quality assurance, (v) becoming hub between top and lower level management, (vi) leading academic convention, and (vii) fund tactician. This research, even though has described vividly the roles of the heads of departments as the middle level manager in higher education, is very context specific and other higher education in other countries may possess different mechanism. However, most universities especially in Indonesia or similar contexts may take the practical benefits of this research, which is to raise awareness and potential contribution of the middle level managers in quality assurance of teaching and learning.

Abstract
Human Rights Violations is one great dilemma which concerns every country. This phenomenon is cohered with the tyranny and incompetence of the government resulting to a society filled with atrocities. The case of Marawi City during Martial Law under Marcos regime in the Philippines is a microcosm of the greater picture of the violation of these rights which this study would like to unfold. In presenting the scope of this study, four objectives are outlined as follows, to explore the untold stories of Meranaw in Marawi city during Martial law, to examine and investigate the social condition of Marawi on how the people struggled within the martial rule, to discuss how the people of Marawi respond to the military aggression and human rights violations in Marawi city and, to know how the Meranaws look at Martial Law at present. The study is primarily conducted based on oral interviews and archival methods. Key informants who are eye witnesses and those other respondents that corroborated or give additional information for the fulfilment and development of this study were purposively chosen. Results of the study show that before Martial law, there was a mutual harmony in Marawi city among the Meranaw natives, the Bisayas and the Chinese settlers in Marawi. The deployment of Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine Constabulary brought the community in a chaotic environment where abuses and injustices were experienced primarily by the Meranaws. To counter these aggressions, the people respond in a collective way of rebellion, some vacated Marawi, some evacuated while others chose to remain. Nevertheless, people of Marawi implied that the purpose of Martial law was not established but rather, it cause disarray, wide corruption and intensified rebellion that trigger large scale of problems that shaped the Mindanao problem.

Abstract
Pineapple leaf fiber/brass/MgO/epoxy hybrid composites has been fabricated and its tensile properties, hardness and wear rate have been investigated. Whilst the fiber is in the form of short fiber (2 mm long), the brass and MgO are particles. The total volume fraction of the fillers was kept constant at 40% with three different ratios, i.e. 5:3:2, 6:2:2 and 7:1:2. The specimens were individually casted using cold press technique. Tensile properties, hardness and wear rate were evaluated in accordance with the ASTM D 638 type IV, ASTM E10 and Ogoshi method, respectively. Their fracture modes were evaluated by closely observed by means of their SEM photomicrographs and optical micrographs, respectively. The results show that the wear rate, hardness and elastic modulus increase with the increase of pineapple leaf fiber content. The highest wear resistance, hardness and elastic modulus were found being 3.728x10-8 mm2/kg, 20.41 BHN, and 407.34 MPa, respectively, at filler content ratio of 5:3:2. Besides, relatively uniform filler distribution and small amount of voids were also noted from the micrographs being obcerved.
