Abstract
This research is motivated by learning obstacles (LO) on the counting principle concepts. One of them is the students-s difficulty in using the product rule concept when it is combined with other counting principle concepts in solving problems. This study aims to develop a didactical design to overcome the LO by following didactical design research steps. The method used in this research was a qualitative method and the data collection was collected by using observation, documentation, and test. The design was implemented in 39 senior high school students at the eleventh grade in science program, one of the schools in Bandung city. The results showed that some of student-s responses had been accordance with predictions, but several other could not be anticipated, and didactical design implemented had not made all students understood the product rule concept optimally, and LO could not be overcome significantly. Therefore, this didactical design still needs to be developed in order to be created a better didactical design.

Abstract
The learning process of mathematics in high school now shows that it has not been able to improve students mathematics self-concepts. This is indicated by the fact that high school mathematics self-concept students are still relatively low. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to improve these variables, considering that these variables are very important in supporting students academic success, especially in mathematics. This study discusses how the implementation of the CMI model in mathematics learning can improve high school mathematics self-concept. This research is a quasi-experimental study. Samples were taken purposively from the population of high school students in Subang, West Java, Indonesia. The instruments used in the study consisted of mathematics self-concept questionnaire and observation sheets. The CMI model is a learning model that accommodates three stages namely develop, solidify and practice. CMI provides many opportunities for students to play an active role in asking questions, explaining the answers to mathematical questions they get, and transferring the knowledge they have with their classmates. The activity will indirectly build the confidence side of students in doing mathematics. The results of the study indicate that the CMI model can improve high school mathematics self-concept.

Abstract
Mathematical creative thinking is the ability of students to find solving ways that are unusual, unique, and have never been found by others. The development of the concept of mathematical creative thinking can make students despair and give up, so that another ability is needed so that they are able to survive and turn their difficulties to be opportunities for themselves to advance. This study aims to determine the mathematical creative thinking ability of class VIII junior high school students in one of the junior high schools in Bandung Barat on the subject to construct plane and solid geometry based on gender differences. The samples are 4 students consisting of two men and two women. Besides that, the discussion of mathematical creative thinking skills for junior high school students is viewed from gender differences, between male and female students in terms of their creative thinking abilities. The instrument of this research is a test of the ability to think creatively and interview. This study is a descriptive qualitative research that aims to describe the ability of creative thinking mathematically in solving problems of plane and solid geometry. The results show that the ability difference between male and female students is that the female students have much better mathematical creative thinking. In addition to gender factors, other factors can also influence the achievement of creative thinking skills; namely, students and teachers- readiness to learn, students- basic abilities and knowledge of mathematical concepts. Male students are more detailed in explaining the shape of each space given to the problem.
