Abstract
Abstract. Acne or acne vulgaris is an inflammation of sebaceous follicles characterized by blackheads, papules, pustules, and nodules in the face, neck, upper body and upper arms. Acne is quite troubling because it is associated with a decrease in self-esteem due to reduced facial beauty. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of teenager-s self confidence in acne. This study employed a descriptive analysis design with a cross sectional approach. The research subjects were students of class X-XI in SMA 5 Denpasar who had acne with 104 respondents using total sampling technique. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a high confidence level of 81.7%, while the level of self-confidence was as much as 18.3%, and none had a low level of confidence. The conclusion of this study is that although the breakouts of respondents still have high self-confidence because they are not only oriented to physical appearance, they feel confident about their abilities and potential in other things
