Abstract
The difference in altitude of growth is one of the factors that can affect the total flavonoids levels of a plant. Binahong has many pharmacological effects that are thought to be caused by the active ingredients such as flavonoids. This study aims to determine the total flavonoid content of 70% ethanol extract from binahong from the Bogor (lowland) area, the Sleman area (temperate plains), and the Bandung area (highlands). Extraction was done by maceration method using 70% ethanol solvent. Determination of total flavonoid levels was carried out using the Chang method. The comparison used was quercetin. The flavonoid level was measured by a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 434.50 nm. The results showed that the total flavonoid content of 70% ethanol extract from the Bogor, Sleman and Bandung regions respectively 4,4330 mgQE / g, 9,8256 mgQE / g and 5,6542 mgQE / g.
