Abstract
The ability of mathematical literacy is very important to be known and owned by students because mathematics is very closely related to everyday life. Mathematical literacy can help students to understand the role and usefulness of mathematics in everyday life. This is what connects mathematics that is learned in the classroom with various kinds of real situations so that by having the ability of mathematical literacy, students are expected to be able to solve problems in school and problems in daily life. This article will discuss what mathematical literacy is, what its aspects are, what the indicators are and how to assesment and develop a persons level of mathematical literacy.
