Abstract

Technological developments not only changed the social order, but also penetrated the Sufistic region. Sufis, known as esoteric movements, cannot be separated from media devices, because the Sufi movement began to reveal its identity on social media without removing esoteric essence. The purpose of this article is to know and construct the spiritual space or Sufi movement in Indonesia which is mobilized through social media, as well as the involvement of the Sufi movement in providing social solutions. This paper is produced from a netnographic study of Sufi mysticism in social mesia. Leonard Swidler and Paul Mojzess theories about creed, code of behavior, cult and community-structure and Ahmad SyafiI Mufid about revitalizing urban sufism were used as analysis. The conclusions that can be taken are that there are certain contemporary Indonesian Sufism patterns on social media that provide opportunities for contemporary Sufism movements to give the concept of spirituality on social media
