Abstract
Domestification of Indonesian natural orchids is one way to do ex situ conservation. In its natural habitat, the Epidendrum paniculatum is an epiphytic orchid that lives attached to trees. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best kind of foliar fertilizer for vegetative growth Epidendrum paniculatum orchids. This experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment was five types of leaf fertilizer compound: J1 = Gandasil D, J2 = Growmore, J3 = Gaviota, J4 = Multitonic, J5 = Hyponex. Each treatment was repeated ten times. The concentration of fertilizer given was 2 gL-1. The volume each time spraying was 50 ml. The results showed that multitonic fertilizers were able to produce the best vegetative growth of Epidendrum paniculatum orchid, measured by leaf number (7.33 sheets), leaf length (47.77 cm), leaf width (6.65 cm), plant height (51.95 cm), bulb height (29.83 cm ) bulb diameter (4.28 cm), and number of new shoots (3.67 shoots per clump).
