Abstract
This research is motivated by the low level of student understanding in the Software Application and Building Interior Design subjects, as evidenced by the cognitive value of students in interior material, which is below the KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal/Minimal Completeness Criteria) value. This study aims to improve student understanding by implementing Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) cooperative learning models. The method used is Classroom Action Research conducted in three cycles. In each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used were student evaluation tests at each cycle, as well as observation sheets of student and teacher activities. Based on the results of the study, the average value of each cycle has increased. In the first cycle, the average number increase by each cycle (second and third cycle). The activity of students and teachers in the class influencing the average number during the implementation of learning takes place. The conclusion of this research is the cooperative learning model with student facilitator and explaining type is proven to be able to improve student understanding in the subject of Software Applications and Interior Design in Buildings
