Abstract

Roller brake tester is a kind of vehicle braking system test equipment used to test the amount of brake force for each vehicle axis and braking force efficiency. This study aims to analyze the magnitude of the efficiency of the brake force arising from the vehicle braking action tested on the roller brake tester. The vehicle used for testing is a type of passenger vehicle weighing of about 1300 kg which is tested using a variety of braking actions such as suddenly stop braking, gradually slow braking and intermittently loose press braking. The results of this study indicate that the efficiency of the highest brake force occurs when sudden-braking is applied, while for the lowest brake force efficiency occurs when the loose-press braking is applied.
