Abstract

This study aims to produce formaldehyde teaching aids to increase the interest in learning and chemical literacy of Vocational School students majoring in Multimedia. Pre-experimental research was conducted to test the effectiveness of formalin test props with research and development (R & D) methods with Four D research designs (Definee, Design, Development, and Deseminate). The props were validated by three lecturers, namely media experts. The research subjects were 30th grade students as many as 30 people at Amaliah Ciawi Vocational High School. Data was collected using expert validation sheets, chemical literacy tests, and student response questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results of the development show that teaching aids increase student learning interest and chemical literacy students obtain N-gain of 0.70 and 0.71 in the high category. These results indicate that the formalin test props are effective for increasing students interest in learning and chemical literacy.
