Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning model with Scientific Approaches in improving students problem solving abilities. This study uses a quasi-experimental research design using pretest and posttest. And by using the Ancova test. The subjects in this study were students of class X SMAN Kebakakatan Sports Bengkulu Province, with a sample of 21 people from 110 students. The results of this study are that there is a linear effect of the covariates initial ability to solve problems on the final problem solving abilities of students who are taught using the Problem Based Learning model with a Scientific Approach. With a statistical value of F = 6.667 and a significance value of 0.014.
