ANALYSIS OF RETAINING WALL FAILURES IN PROJECT X IN SURABAYA

Abstract
The retaining wall used in this project is a contiguous pile type with a reinforcement system ground anchor. At the time of excavation work in progress, there was a failure on the retaining wall in one side close to the road in the city of Surabaya. Because it needs to be analyzed regarding the cause of the case. The program that will be used to analyze is BMCOLPY/G from which program we can find deflection, moment, shear and anchor force that occurs during excavation. From the calculation results, the anchor on layer 1 exceeds the ultimate limit of the pressure cable, thereby causing damage or losing the strength to hold the retaining wall. By knowing the cause of the case, the designers will pay more attention in designing the retaining wall.
