Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to examine the effect of PBL used simulation (adobe flash) on critical thinking skills. The research was quasi experimental using pre-test post-test control group design. The population of this study was all of 11th graders at one of SMA in Medan. The sample were experiment class using PBL used adobe flash and control using traditional. The data were collected by critical thinking test based on contextual problem in essay form. The data were analyzed by using t-test. The research results indicated that the pretest score for experimental and control group were 38,93 and 36,25 and the posttest score were 74,45 and 53,95. Based on the result of t-test, there was a significant effect between critical thinking skill with applied PBL used adobe flash. The increase of percentage critical thinking skill in experimental and control were 58 % (in middle category) and 28% (in low category).
