Abstract

One of the most noteworthy models of school reform today is the school-based management model (SBM). The Government of Indonesia has issued a set of guidelines related to the implementation of SBM in 2002. Schools that have implemented SBM are expected to improve the quality of learning. This study aims to provide an empirical description of the quality of learning based on the instrument of the lesson plan and the learning implementation instrument by the teacher. Researchers chose a junior high school in Konawe district, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The results showed that there are some components that have not been optimally applied, namely: implementation of effective learning ppproach/strategy, utilizing learning resources/media in learning, designing evaluation tools and monitoring tools for monitoring progress and learning outcomes of learners in achieving certain competencies, and Utilize feedback for learners.
