THE NUTRITIONAL STATUS ON BACHELOR OF NURSING STUDENTS IN THIRD LEVEL ITEKES BALI THROUGH BODY MASS INDEX MEASUREMENT

Abstract
Normal nutritional status is needed to support daily activities, but still found abnormal nutritional status (underweight, overweight and obesity) especially in adults. The purpose of this study was identify the nutritional status on Bachelor of Nursing Students in third level ITEKES Bali through body mass index measurement. This study employed descriptive design with cross sectional study and conducted on February, 1st – March, 1st 2019 at second campus of ITEKES Bali. The population of this study was all students of Bachelor of Nursing students in third level. There were 239 respondents as a sample which were selected by using total sampling technique. This study employed observation method and collected by using observation sheet, scales, microtoise, calculators and stationery. The data were analyzed by using univariate analysis. The finding showed that the nutritional status were underweight category of heavy level were 8 respondents (3,3%), underweight of light level were 22 respondents (9,3%), normal weight category were 180 respondents (71,1%). and in overweight category were 18 respondents (7,5%) and obesity category were 21 respondents (8,8%). The nutritional status of Bachelor of Nursing students in third level ITEKES Bali is mostly in the normal category, but there are some Bachelor of Nursing students in third level with underweight nutritional, overweight and obesity. It is recommended that students who experience poor nutritional status can apply a healthy lifestyle, such as healthy food consumption patterns and sufficient activities so that they are able to maintain nutritional in normal conditions
