Students understanding of evolution concepts: reasoning abilities and conceptual understanding

Abstract

During this time students tend to learn evolution through various sources independently or through memorizing or reading on their own and are not aware of reciprocal relationships in everyday life. Because of its ability to understand students understanding of the concept of evolution. To test the hypothesis, is there a correlation between students understanding of evolution, reasoning abilities and learning approaches, carried out an investigation. A total of 33 students participated in this study. Reasoning abilities and learning evolution of students using Learning Tests of logical thinking and Learning Questions, respectively. Students understanding of basic evolution concepts is assessed using concept knowledge testing. Understand the concept of evolution. The results indicated that there was a correlation between students reasoning abilities and students conceptual understanding.
