Abstract
The critical thinking, that involve the reflective and evaluative process, has a significant role in students- everyday life. Therefore a teacher candidate need to has a good critical thinking to be able to foster their students thinking critically through learning mathematics. As an initial step to reinforce the critical thinking of teachers candidate, we need to know the state of their thinking. For this purpose, we conducted a descriptive study to investigate the critical thinking of mathematics education students in geometry. We designed a writen task in two types: true/false questions to investigate the critical tinking in their geometric comprehension and making decission, and problem solving questions to check their using of critical thinking in solving problems. The result we get showed the lack of mathematics education program students critical thinking in the geometry context. This conditions was due to their misconception of geometry context, their less paying attention to the whole situation and condition, and their less open analysis of situations. It implied that the geometry course need to be improved in using medias and strategies that involved more challenging problems and using more open analysis and logical thought in comprehend the concepts.
