Abstract

Abstract English is a global language, the language used by almost all people in the world, including Indonesia. Apart from the worldwide use of English, Bali, which is one of the most well-known and favored places in Indonesia as a tourism destination, makes English one of the most important communication tools used in daily life by the people. Especially those who deal directly with the world of tourism. The importance of English in tourism in the island of the gods, in the world of English education has become one of the subjects required by schools. In the 1990s, English was taught, however it was only basic English, it means students begin to get English lessons starting in junior high school. Along with the development of technology, the progress of the era that requires people to be better able to communicate in English, considering that Bali is also one of the favorite tourist destinations, so now English lessons have begun to be introduced at an early age. Bearing in mind that not only in Bali, but everywhere English is very important to be mastered as one of the international languages, it is used to communicate. So, English has begun to be introduced at the kindergarten level (kindergarten) or play group. Some kindergartens provide English as supplementary lessons or as extra-curricular, and for kindergartens or international class play groups use English as the language of instruction in learning in their schools. Providing teaching or introducing English to early childhood is not easy. One method that can be used is TPR (Total Physical Response) method. TPR is an understanding approach in this case is a foreign language that will be given, using a foreign language approach which is by instruction and command (Larsen & Freeman, 1986). Keywords: learning, English, early childhood Abstrak Bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa global, bahasa yang digunakan oleh hampir seluruh kalangan yang ada di dunia, tidak terkecuali di Indonesia. Terlepas dari penggunan bahasa Inggris yang mendunia, Bali yang merupakan salah satu tempat di Indonesia yang sangat terkenal dan difavoritkan di dunia sebagai salah satu tujuan pariwisata, menjadikan bahasa Inggris sebagai salah satu alat komunikasi penting yang digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari oleh masyrakatnya. Khususnya yang bergelut langsung dengan dunia pariwisata tersebut. Mengingat pentingnya bahasa Inggris dalam menggerakkan kepariwisataan yang ada di pulau dewata, di dalam dunia pendidikan bahasa Inggris sudah menjadi salah satu mata pelajaran yang diwajibkan oleh sekolah. Pada tahun 1990-an, bahasa Inggris hanya terbatas diberikan. Dalam arti, siswa mulai memperoleh pelajaran bahasa Inggris mulai di bangku SMP. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, kemajuan jaman yang menuntut masyrakat untuk lebih bisa berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris, mengingat Bali juga sebagai salah satu tempat tujuan wisara favorit, maka saat ini pelajaran bahasa Inggris sudah mulai
