Abstract

Characteristics of education 4.0 lead to learning features that develop soft skills critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving and provide opportunities for students to interact, collaborate and learn from each other. One learning approach that can be applied is STEM-based learning that integrates interdisciplinarity between Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This study aims to develop STEM-based laboratory learning designs on refining used lubricating oil waste. The research method used is Research and Development (R & D). The steps in this study are (1) Analysis of the curriculum, (2) Analysis of Books, (3) Optimization of experimental procedures, (4) Preparation of practicum design formats, (5) Validation of experts. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, optimization of experimental results and using a validation sheet to validate the practicum design. Data analysis was carried out by CVR (Content Validity Ratio) and the results were interpreted to determine the validity of the practicum design developed. This study resulted in a practicum design is valid and that was feasible to use.
