Youth Adaptation and Participation Strategy toward community development effort in Remote Island

Abstract

This research aims to identify forms of youth responsive strategies for community development programs on remote islands. The level of youth participation in the process of planning, implementing, and monitoring based on development programs. This research was carried out on the remote island of Balobaloang in the Sabalana Islands, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi. The responsive of the youth strategy towards community development programs on the island of Balobaloang is a description of the factors and variables that drive the level of youth participation in remote island development programs. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. A qualitative approach is used to measure and categorize the background that influences young people to be active, in response to development programs. The sampling technique used is Purposive sampling, then proceed with the snowball sampling technique. This study focuses on two central to the problem. First is the form of impressionable youth on Balobaloang Island and how the Balobaloang youth is receptive to support community development programs on Balobaloang Island. Primary data sources other than documentation and field notes are field observations and in-depth unstructured interviews. For secondary data obtained from village administration data, the program design has arranged. The results of the study show the critical factors of education, infrastructure, and social environment were factors that caused varied responses. Attitudes, and models of youth response to community development programs on Balobaloang Island.
