Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education through comics to the learning outcomes of fourth-grade mathematics elementary school. This research is an actual experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design model. The research subjects were students in grade IV Elementary School. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling, consisting of 20 students in the experimental group and 20 students in the control group. Data analysis using parametric statistics with the t-test (independent sample t-test) The results showed that Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) through the Komix Book had a positive effect on mathematical results from the cognitive side. This is evidenced by the results of the analysis of the independent sample t-test with a significance value of 0.018 <0.05. Based on the analysis and discussion, there are differences in the increase in the average end of mathematics learning outcomes, namely the experimental group by 10.58 and the control group by 3.75. The results of the study can be concluded that realistic mathematics education through comic books has a positive effect on learning outcomes in mathematics
