Abstract
The underlying problem of this research is the lack of students competencies in understanding the concept area of triangle in geometry as the results of the teaching and learning pattern that only receiving information rather than to construct knowledge. The process of construct knowledge by students during learning requires high attention and motivation from students for learning which is then facilitated by the teacher. The purpose of this research is to develop the didactical design of area of triangle that is to construct knowledge and motivation to learn geometry involving student motor action. The used research method is a qualitative research in the form of the didactical design research through three phases of analysis i.e. didactical situation analysis, metapedadidactical analysis, and retrospective analysis, which conducted in students from 7th grade at one of public schools in West Bandung Regency. Based on the results of research and analysis, the didactical designs that has been made is capable to change students learning habit, construct students learning motivation and are quite capable of developing students competencies in the concept of triangle area.
