Abstract

Background: Management of poor quality emergency complications contributes to the high maternal mortality. Among them, inadequate handling of placental retention and management errors in the third stage of labor which is the sole cause of post partum hemorrhage. P enelitian This makes the module a simple modified by the algorithm on the front cover. To guide the midwife in acting if encountering a case of retained placenta. It is expected to strengthen self efficacy and avoid mishandling and late referral. The purpose of research : Knowing the effective use of retained placenta emergency handling module on training towards self-efficacy Midwives and development modules. Method Research Experiment control randomized trial group design pretest-posttest approach with a questionnaire. Confounding variables: age, length of work, education, and experience managing placental retention. Population: midwives practice in the community. Results: Training in the use of emergency retention modules for placental retention, effectively increasing self efficacy by 0.61 points (95% CI 0.28-0.93) p = 0.001 or increasing by 34.29%. Conclusion : Training in the use of emergency retention modules for placental retention is effective in increasing self efficacy (34.29%)
