Otome Games for Japanese Learning

Abstract

This research is intended to know how otome games (Japanese simulation game for girls) can be an alternate choice for Japanese Learning alongside with Anime and Japanese pop culture which keep spreading around the world. We used observation and inteview as the method to gain the information of how game players can simply learning Japanese outside an institution. The result says that there is a significant differences beetwen people which studying Japanese conventionally and people who play otome games. It is included reading comprehension, listening, and how much vocabullary they know. By this result, we hope more Japanese learner will understand the benefit and positive side of otome games in Japanese learning, and more people will play it.
