This research is motivated by the idea of the importance of developing practical learning methods. The purpose of this study was to design practicum learning science, technology, engineering, mathematic (STEM)-based on learning to identify synthetic dyes in food. to achieve this, the questions raised in this study are " what are the characteristics of developing STEM based practicum methods for identifying synthetic dyes in food?". As for the research method used is research and development (R&D) consists of the planning phase, which is done is analyzing curriculum, books, and STEM-based practical learning. at the development stage a validation test was carried out by experts related to learning devices that will be used in this study. and at the implementation stage a trial is conducted to determine the development of student literacy. and collected by validation sheet, questionnaire, and observation of teacher and student activities.
