Abstract

Abstract. The study aimed to determine the effect of anaerobic interval training, the difference in the increase in swimming speed between swimmers who have good and less arm muscle power, and the interaction effects of the three research variables. The study sample collected 24 people obtained by purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted by factorial 2x2 design. The research variable consisted of manipulative independent variables; Anaerobic interval training ratio 1:3 and 1:5. Independent variable attributes; arm muscle strength, dependent variable; 50 meter freestyle swimming speed. Data strength was obtained through full vertical arm test, swimming speed data with 50 meter distance test. The data analysis technique uses two-way ANAVA statistics with a significance level of α= 0.05. Research result; There is no significant difference between anaerobic interval training ratio 1:3 and 1:5 to increase the 50 meter freestyle swimming speed, as evidenced by the Fobs=1.19
