Abstract
TThis research aimed to create and develop standard indicators for basic education teacher competency in the 21st century and exploratory the standard indicators of teacher competencies for basic education level in the 21st century. Research samples were 750 teachers, selected by multi-stage sampling, working for office of the basic education commission. The instrument used for data collection was a five-rating scale questionnaire on standard indicators for basic education teacher competency in the 21st century. Percentage, mean, standard deviation and exploratory factor analysis were used for data analysis. The research findings were as follows: 1) The correlation coefficients of each pair of question ranged from 0.301-0.849 while the highest correlation was 0.849. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy was 0.968 and Bartlett-s Test of Sphericity was (sig = 0.000). The Eigenvalue could be used for factor extraction and resulted in 19 factors with cumulative variance at 73.21 which was higher than the set value of 60%. 2) Exploratory factor extraction resulted in 19 indicators namely : knowledge in subject content and pedagogy, design of learning management, learning management and classroom management, use and development of innovative media technology for learning management, measurement evaluation and research for learning development, psychology for learning management, educational assurance, curriculum construction and development, learner development, leadership moral ethic and conduct, achievement oriented in work performance, good governance, personal and professional development, teamwork, communication and cooperation, building relationships and cooperation with communities, personnel management skills, and learning skills creativity and innovation.
