Abstract
The use of Computed Tomography (CT) as an imaging tool in the last few years has increased quite dramatically with this increase, so great attention is needed to patient safety for radiation doses. Radiographers are responsible for giving radiation doses that must be in accordance with ALARA principles, so optimize CT parameters to produce good image quality by pressing the radiation dose. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of CT mAs, kVp parameters on image quality and radiation dose received by pediatric patients. The research method is by processing the results of the examination image using a radiant viewer and analyzing the results of CTDIvol and DLP to determine the results of radiation doses. The results of the study obtained an average Signal noise Ratio value of 8.08 and a mean contrast Noise Ratio of 0.28, while for the mean value of CTDIvol was 26.75 mGy. This average value is still within the safe limits of Indonesia Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) in accordance with the value of Diagnsotic Reference Level in 2018th on examinations of children 0-14 years, besides that based on this study there are several factors that influence dose and image quality parameters ; kVp, mAs, slice thickness, software processing.
