COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF STUDENT MATHEMATICAL REASONING ABILITY IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL THROUGH RME APPROACHMENT AND RME APPROACHMENT IN SMALL GROUPS

Abstract

One of factors that makes students difficult to understand about mathematic because their reasoning ability is lacked. To evolve and improve student�s reasoning ability in mathematic, it required an approach in learning. So it can build student�s reasoning ability. The research has a purpose to compare groups of grade VIII classes in student�s learning improvement, through RME learning approachment and RME learning approachment in small group at Perguruan Advent XV Ciracas, East Jakarta. The subject of this research in the first group that got RME learning approachment. Meanwhile, the second group that got RME learning approachment in small group. The procedures of this research covered three steps are (1) preparetion, (2) implementation, and (3) final. The data was collected in quantitative methode. The result showed that there is a significant difference between the students who got RME learning approachment in small group and the students who got RME learning approachment.
