Abstract
The PKM (community service) activity was carried out at the "Wana Sari Merta" Livestock Farmer Group in Pancasari Village, Sukasada Sub-District, Buleleng Regency, Bali with the title "PKM of Increasing the Added Value of Waste in Rabbit Farmers Group in Pancasari-Buleleng". Pancasari Village is a producer of horticultural products, in which organic fertilizer is mostly utilized and made by chicken feces. This opportunity could actually be used by rabbit farmers to supply organic fertilizer made from rabbits- waste, namely rabbits- feces and urine. Problems which were faced by the Wana Sari Merta Group were 1).the rabbits- waste has not been processed optimaly and intensively into fertilizer, 2).the group has not have building to collect and process the solid and liquid waste for fermentation and storing process, 3).the product has not been packaged well, 4).high disease rate that leaded to rabbits- death, 5).the lack of feed during dry season. The solutions for those problems were 1).technical training and guidance in making both of solid and liquid organic fertilizers, 2). technical counseling and guidance to build certain place to process both of solid and liquid waste into fertilizers, 3).technical counseling and guidance to package both of solid and liquid organic fertilizers, 4).technical counseling and guiding of disease prevention, and 5).technical counseling and guiding in finding alternative feed. The aims of this activity were to encourage the knowledge and skill of the farmers in cultivating rabbit and using the rabbits- waste as organic fertilizer to subtitute inorganic fertilizer. Besides, both of the solid and liquid rabbits- waste could be used as organic fertilizer for plants just like the chickens- waste. The use of technology in rabbits- waste processing would give high added value for rabbit farmers. The target outputs of this activity were the villagers could be independent in processing the waste of rabbit. From this activity, the output target to be achieved is that the partner group can independently utilize the solid and liquid rabbit waste to become "Solid Organic Fertilizer" (SOF) and "Liquid Organic Fertilizer" (LOF) so as to increase partner group income.
