ABSTRACT This research was carried out to investigated the varieties sentences produced by the first grade students. The objectives of the research is to find out and describe the sentences by the the first grade students. The subject of the research is 16 students of the first grade students at SD Negeri 112131 Rantauprapat. This research was focus to the kinds of sentences that always uttered in communication based on Greenbaum and Nelson (2002). They are declarative sentences, interrogative sentences, imperative sentence and exclamation sentences. Descriptive qualitative was used in this research. The instrument of this research was observation by recording using mobile phone.
