Abstract
This study aims to determine and describe students mathematical problem solving abilities in geometry material, namely to build a flat side space. Based on the results of the TIMSS and PISA studies and literature studies indicate that there are still many students who have difficulty in the cognitive process to understand problems and solve problems in word problems. This fact raises this research which aims to investigate the ability to solve problems and difficulties carried out by students in solving material problems in building flat side spaces. This research is qualitative research, involving 26 one of the junior high schools in Bandung which was selected using random sampling techniques. Analysis of the ability to solve problems in this study is based on Polyas steps, namely understanding the problem, devising the plan, implementing the plan and looking back. Data collection techniques used in this study were written tests and interviews. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between students problem solving abilities with reflective and impulsive cognitive styles. The results of this study indicate that Impulsive students tend not to go through the stages of planning completion, error calculations, and reluctant to re-examine the solutions that have been found. Unlike the case with Reflective students.

Abstract
One of the 21st century skills and also the main goal of students learning mathematics is mathematical problem solving. To achieve one of the 21st century skills, students can practice solving problems in various forms of questions, including the story problem. Completing the story problem requires understanding of the problem context, making a mathematical model, developing a resolution strategy and reviewing the strategies used. The purpose of this research is to analyze the students ability to solve mathematical story questions about sine rules material. This research was conducted by quantitative and qualitative analysis. Data were collected from 34 students of tenth grade senior of high school. Problem solving for each student was scored by using a holistic rubric, then solution was reviewed by using the Polya Problem Solving Strategy. The results showed at least students had been written the solution but the methods that they used could not be understood (problem number1) and indicates that were weak in understanding and planning problem solving. Then there was only 4 students who were able to solve the problem solving correctly (problem number 2), thus students had been able to implement the four steps of Polya-s problem solving strategy properly.

Abstract
Fractions is one of the essential topics in mathematics learning at school that is often considered difficult to understand by students. Students in Indonesia generally learn fractions in the part-whole comparisons construct. This study aims to describe students misunderstandings in comparing fractions in fraction constructs as part-whole comparisons through representations presented by students. This research is descriptive qualitative research and the data collection was collected by test, interview, and video documentation. The subjects of this study were seven elementary school students at the fifth grade, one of the schools in Bandung. The result of this study show that students who correctly answer the problem of comparing fractions and can represent the fractions that are given in fraction constructs as Part-Whole Comparisons evidently have a misunderstanding of comparing two fractions. The types of mistakes made by students are 1) Students compared the numerator of the two fractions given, 2) Students compared the denominator of the fractions given, and 3) Student did not divide the unit into equal-sized shares. Based on the result, we conclude that students understanding of the definition and representation of fractions as part-whole comparisons is still limited to memorization, not to the good meaning.

Abstract
This research aims to describe students- thinking process in solving the problem of negation of compound statement, especially conjunction and disjunction. By using descriptive explorative research students- thinking process was analyzed based on APOS theory. The subjects of this research are 9 students of freshman which in joining the Logic and Set Theory course in one of universities in Bandung. The data was collected by test, observation, and interview. Based on research findings, researchers conclude particularly in each of mental constructions phases of APOS, in: action, process, object, and scheme phases precisely. The action was formed almost perfectly on all students, except for a student in low category. Interiorization of action into a process does not occur only for a student in low category, while in other students it is perfect or imperfect. Thereafter, at the object phase, a student in high category performs the encapsulation and de-encapsulation processes perfectly, while there are two students in low category who can-t do the two processes and the other students do those processes with some mistakes. Finally, there are two students in low category and a student in medium category such that can-t organize action, process, and object to build scheme.

Abstract
Technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) is defined as a competence in integrating knowledge of content, pedagogy, and technology into a learning practice that needs to be possessed by teachers to face the era of 21st century education. TPACK competence is inseparable from specific content that is going to be taught, in this case is classification of lving things, a distinctive content on biology learning. This study was aimed at analyzing TPACK competence of biology teachers in classification of living things learning. The study was set as a descriptive study and involved five biology teachers from senior high school level, grade X. The data about teachers- TPACK was gained from CoReS, and teachers- prespective on TPACK in classification of living things learning was gained from teachers- responses toward questionnaires. As the result, analysis of CoRes reveals that all (100%) of biology teachers- TPACK is on the pre TPACK category. The study eventually shows that biology teachers still face some difficulties in integrating content knowledge, pedagogy, and technology in teaching classification of living things that discusses numerical taxonomy to the students.

Abstract
This study aims to analyze students mistakes in solving algebraic questions and to find out the opinions of students about the interest in learning mathematics. The research approach taken is qualitative with descriptive method. The instruments used consisted of problem solving questions and interview guidelines. Tests carried out by students are given a score and an analysis of error answers is carried out. The study was conducted on class VIII students in one of the Public Middle Schools in West Bandung Regency. The tests carried out include several stages, namely the understanding stage, the transformation stage and the process skill stage. The results of the study show that most students have difficulty working on question number 3 with process skill indicators. After interviews, students said they did not understand the algebraic concept well and how to transform the problem into algebraic threads. So that it can be concluded that the error of class VIII students in one of the State Junior High Schools in West Bandung in solving algebraic form problems is in the lack of understanding the basic concepts of algebra. It is suggested that the learning process should use learning strategies that can improve students understanding of the basic concepts of matter. However, 61.38% of students have positive opinions on mathematics.

Abstract
Abstract. Science literacy is one in HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills). Science literacy is one of the skills needed by students so that students have the ability to solve HOTS problems. One way to measure scientific literacy skills is to use scientific literacy instruments. Several studies have been carried out in the development of scientific literacy instruments, but there are still shortcomings in their development. Some researchers also provide advice on the development of subsequent scientific literacy instruments. There are several shortcomings in existing scientific literacy instruments, including those that have not raised aspects of inquiry, critical insight. In addition, the existing forms of scientific literacy instruments still need development. Then the item analysis method used still uses the classical data analysis method, but some have used analysis items using IRT (Item Response Theory). These shortcomings can be minimized by changing the form of scientific literacy instruments to be more interesting or can measure more than one ability. In addition, the item analysis method of using IRT is one of the recommended methods of data analysis compared to classical analysis methods.

Abstract
Abstract. This study aims to analyze senior high school students- View of Nature of Science and Technology. The participants include 25 senior high school students in one school in Bandung, Indonesia. The VNOST questionnaire consists of 8 multiple-choice items including four aspects: definitions of science and technology, epistemology of science, internal sociology of science, and external sociology of science. Students responses to the questionnaire were analyzed using frequency distribution to characterize trends in students views. The results showed that most of the students answers belonged to the Has Merit category, which was 46.5% but there were still few students who had a realistic view of 30% and 23.5% of the students answers still included the Naïve category. This study shows that generally senior high school students do not yet have an appropriate view of the nature of science and technology. This study is very important for teachers to see VNOST in science learning.

Abstract
The high competition in the globalization era makes students often faced with various complicated problems. To be able to face increasingly challenging problems it is necessary to have habits of mind and strong understanding. Habits of mind and understanding can be formed and trained by applying formative assessments. The problem is not all the formative assessment strategies that students receive in lectures are in line as needed. In this research we will apply formative assessment through the stages of UbD, which aims to shape the habits of mind and understanding of the students. In contrast to other studies, this research used inverse design that is understanding by design in choosing the formative assessment strategy used. The method used is quantitative method with one-group pre-test post-test design. The purpose of this research is to know the improvement of habits of mind and understanding of the students. The result of the research shows that there is a significant increase both in students habits of mind and students understanding. The students habits of mind increases at medium category (N-gain = 43,9%), while students- understanding increases at medium category (N-gain = 45% ).

Abstract
The occurrence of plant blindness among students, then the plant literacy movement must be carried out intensively through learning in schools by applying phenetic. This study used a pre-experimental design pre-test and post-tests group. Pre-test about system thinking which is part of 21st century skills of critical thinking and problem solving regarding seed plants as aspects of 21st century plant literacy in high school students of class X MIPA in Bandung, conducted before phenetic learning. During learning, students are assigned to begin by identifying and selecting the characters of each taxon until reconstructing the phenogram. After phenetic learning, a post test was conducted. The results showed that there was an increase in 21st century plant literacy as much as 0.61 which included moderate categories and students could positively accept phenetic learning. Thus in addition to being a curriculum demand, phenetic also has the potential as a means to improve 21st century student plant literacy, but only a few aspects of system thinking can be developed. Further improvement is needed in phenetic learning, especially in selecting taxon and determining its characteristics.

Abstract
The developing reflective thinking skills (RF) for pre-service teachers is very important. It made pre-service teachers try to integrate the ability to think reflective in the teaching process. The study aims to explore the ability of argumentation that has been constructed into the reflective thinking process. It purpose to enhance the reflective thinking capabilities of physics pre-service teachers- climate prediction material. The respondent of this research were three respondents. The data obtained in the form of arguments by determining claims, warrant and backing qualitatively. It analysed using descriptive explorative. Based on the results of data analysis, the pre-service teachers reflective thinking ability was seen from the results of the argumentation. We described three (3) different level for respondent reflective thinking capability in which the first respondent in resolution level, the second respondent in exploration level, and the third respondent in triggering event level. This means that the reconstruction of the reflective thinking process by including the arguments was very effective to explore the reflective thinking capabilities of pre-service teachers.
