Abstract
Broiler chickens is a type of chicken that has a fast growth rate and requires large amounts of nutrients absorbed from feed. Absorption of nutrients in the feed requires the function of a good digestive tract to optimize the digestive process. The digestive process also requires optimal time in absorption of feed nutrients called the digesta rate. The purpose of this study was to determine the right level of addition aloe vera powder to the length of digestive tract and the rate of digesta broiler. This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications, namely P0: feed without aloe vera powder (control), P1: feed + 0.075% aloe vera powder, P2: feed + 0,1% aloe vera powder and P3: feed + 0,125% aloe vera powder. The treatment had a significant effect on the jejenum length and digesta rate. But it had no significant effect on the duodenum length and the ileum lenght. The jejenum length was significantly different in treatment P1 of 85.50 cm and P3 of 83.75 cm when compared to treatment P0 of 73.25 cm. Digesta rate was significantly different from the P3 treatment was 259 minutes when compared to the control treatment (P0) 200 minutes. The results of the study showed that the addition of aloe vera powder with the best level was at the level of 0.125% (P3) which optimizes the jejenum length and the rate of digesta broiler. The conclusion is that the addition of aloe vera powder with a level of 0.125% in broiler feed can optimize the length of jejenum and increase the rate of digestion

Abstract
In addition to its high content in protein and lipid, Black soldier fly (BSF) (Hermetia illucens. L) has antimicrobial peptides (AMP) that could inhibit the growth pathogenic microbes. Therefore BSF extract could be very potential in substituting the use of antibiotics in animal production system. This research was conducted to determine the antibacterial activity of BSF extract in vitro on the growth of Salmonella typhimurium, E. coli and Pseudomonas aureginosa. The experiment was carried out according to the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments and three replications for each treatment. The treatments were different concentration levels of BSF extract, i.e. 75, 125, 175, 225, 275 and 325 mg.ml-1. Chloramphenicol with concentration of 30 µg.discs paper-1 was used as a positive control and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a negative control. BSF extract was made using maceration extraction method. The antibacterial activity of BSF extract was determined by measuring the diameter of inhibitory zone (mm) formed around the discs paper following the 24 h of the incubation period. The results of this study indicated that the antibacterial activity of BSF extract increased (P<0.05) in line with the increase level of BSF extract concentration. The average diameter of the inhibition zone for Salmonella typhimurium, E. coli and Pseudomonas aureginosa was 11.77 ± 0.03 mm, 11.15 ± 0.05 mm, and 11.15 ± 0.23 mm respectively, which was categorized as strong inhibition zone, even though was still lower compared to a very strong inhibiton zone of chloramphenikol, which was 14.74 ± 0.38 - 27.61 ± 0.35. In conclusion, the concentration of BSF extract of 325 mg.ml-1 is an effective concentration to inhibit the growth of the bacteria Salmonella typhimurium, E. coli and Pseudomonas aureginosa.

Abstract
Abstract. The use of feed additives can significantly improve the efficiency of animal production, including the possibility of feed cost reduction and alternative feed raw material use. The number and type of feed additives with different purpose are wide available and provide alternatives to users. However, there are obstacles faced by livestock owner whether feed additives chosen to fit according to their end target, as well as costs constrain. The challenges in the tropics such as in Indonesia are quite different especially after the government prohibit antibiotic growth promotor as feed additive. There have been many efforts to get the best material to replace this antibiotic growth promotor, but there is still no one that can replace it in terms of effectiveness and cost

Abstract
The effect of the different clipping time on the yield and quality of Dwarf Napier grass under manure application were investigated in this experiment. In relation to plant growth and quality, the needs of grassland for fertilizer nutrients are influenced by the intensity of management, by whether the forage crop is harvested by clipping and the botanical composition of the forage crop. Manure contains essential plant nutrients and to use as a soil amendment for crop production is a practical method, so as to solve the disposal problem of livestock. Dwarf Napier grass as a perennial summer crop under the blocked design with 2 plants per meter square were applied to 3 levels of manure and 4 clipping times. The manure revealed so effective fertilizer to increase dry matter yield, and forage quality, especially in crude protein content and in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) at the same clipping time with the increase in manure application level.

Abstract
Abstract. Many contributable factors have combined impacts on the efficient productivity of livestock raised under the integrated-farming system. The roles of livestock are far precious to assess, not only socio-economically but utmost importantly, is the close engagement with the well-being and their livelihood associated with any livestock production systems, for the rural farmers, as shown in the global scenario. Engagement and processes involved by stakeholders especially the farmers or producers are mandatorily required for the smart paradigms to ensure for the production efficiency. As the global population is climbing to reach about 8.5 and 10 billion in the years 2030 and 2050, respectively, more protein foods and products are urgently required to meet the consumption demand. Remarkable increases of meat, milk and egg consumptions are anticipated to be at least 70% of the current amount. Feed resources both conventionally and unconventionally, available seasonally, especially roughages and those of agricultural crop-residues are important in the feeding systems. Their quantity and quality will greatly impact on the livestock production. Feeding system innovations encompassing type of feeds, nutritive values, level of use, processing technology, as well as feeding practices to ensure the production efficiency profitability and the sustainability are required for implementations. Such an approach, the food-feed-system (FFS) has been potentially demonstrated to support the livestock system. Improving and processing of feeds for seasonal shortage of some leguminous feeds could be successfully exploited and intervened. Furthermore, innovations to provide the rumen microbiomes for the efficient fermentation to support meat and milk production warrant more practical pursuits. Improvements of capacity building along with human resource development associated with livestock production are necessarily required.

Abstract
ABSTRACT One way to further improving the nutritive value of fermented rice straw (FRS) is by combining it with a high-quality feedstuff such as green concentrate. The purpose of this study was to assess the in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) and in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD) of FRS mixed with different levels of green concentrate prepared from different legume trees. The study was carried out according to a completely randomized design consisting of 10 treatments and three replications. The treatments were C = 100% FRS (control), A1 = 90% FRS + 10% Gamal meal, A2 = 80% FRS + 20% Gamal meal, A3 = 70% FRS+ 30% Gamal meal; B1 = 90% FRS + 10% Lamtoro meal, B2 = 80% FRS + 20% Lamtoro meal, B3 = 70% FRS + 30% Lamtoro meal, C1 = 90% FRS + 10% Indigofera meal, C2 = 80% FRS + 20% Indigofera meal, and C3 = 70% FRS + 30% Indigofera meal. Data analysis indicated that IVDMD and IVOM of FRS (control) was much less (P<0.05) than those of FRS combined with green concentrate. Among the green concentrate treatments, the IVDMD and IVOMD of FRS mixed with either lamtoro or gamal meal were less (P<0.05) than those of FRS combined with indigofera meal, while IVDMD and IVOMD of FRS + gamal meal were similar (P>0.05) to those of FRS + lamtoro meal. Within each legume meal, the IVDMD and IVOMD significantly increased (P<0.05) as the level of legume meal in the mixture increased. In conclusion, the nutritive value of fermented rice straw could be boosted through substituting some of the FRS with green concentrate and among three different legume meals used as green concentrate, the use of indigofera meal resulting in the highest improvement in terms of IVDMD and IVOMD compared with the use either gamal or lamtoro meal.

Influence of different vermicomost levels on growth, yield and quality of forage sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench ) Budiman Nohong1), Rinduwati1) and Muhammad Yusuf2) 1) Forage Crops and Pasture Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Scienec Hasanuddin University 2) Forestry Extension Agencies, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of vermicompost fertilizer level on growth, dry matter yield and quality of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench. The experiments were arranged in a randomized block design consisting of four treatments and three replications. The utilized four levels of the vermicompost fertilizer were 0 (P0), 5.000 (P1), 10.000 (P2) and 15.000 kg vermicompost/ha (P3), respectively. The variables in this study included the plant height, dry matter yield, crude protein, crude fiber, NDF and ADF. The results showed that if the vermicompost fertilizer dosage was increased the plant height, dry matter yield and crude protein would increase, but did not affect the crude fiber, NDF and ADF. Regrowth (ratoon) influences plant height and dry matter yield, while crude protein and crude fiber and ADF have no effect. It can be concluded that applying vermicompost fertilizer significantly increased growth, dry matter yield and significantly affected crude protein, while regrowth resulted in lower growth and dry matter yield. Abstract
Application of the use of red fruit (Pandanus conoideus Lam) as a feed additive because it has antioxidant properties and as a preventive disease drug, so it needs to be developed. The purpose of this review is to examine the use of red fruit peels as feed additives for native chickens. Literature study conducted by reviewing several journals with the results of the study showed that the use of red fruit peels in poultry is still limited to broilers. Red fruit has known properties as a cancer-preventing drug, hypertension, diabetes, and even HIV. Red fruit contains beta-carotene, tocopherol, oleic acid, and linoleic acid. Also contains unsaturated fatty acids, namely oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, decanoic, omega 3 and omega 9. Parts used only in fruit juice, oil and red fruit pulp, while the skin has not been utilized. Thus, the use of red fruit peels in free-range chickens as feed additives will provide new treasures in science and prospects for local, regional, national and even international sluggish poultry fields.

Abstract
The use of such agricultural by product as corn cobs is important in fulfilling the needs of feed for ruminant, especially during the dry season. However, the main problem of using corn cobs as a feedstuff is low digestibility due to the existence of the links between lignin and cellulose or hemicellulose. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of biodecomposer (BS) application on the changes of chemical components of corn cobs. BS was developed from the rumen bacterial of buffalo raised under typical feeding conditions. The effectiveness of BS application was assessed by fermenting corn cobs for 4 weeks. The experiment was run according to completely randomized design consisted of eight treatments and three replications giving total number of the experimental units of 24. The treatments were T0 = 100 g course ground of corn cobs without BS, T1 = 100 g course ground of corn cobs + 2.5% BS, T2 = 100 g course ground of corn cobs + 5.0 % BS, T3= 100 g course ground of corn cobs + 7.5% BS, T4= 100 g course ground of corn cobs + 10% BS, T5 =100 g course ground of corn cobs + 12.5% BS, T6= 100 g course ground of corn cobs + 15% BS, and T7= 100 g corn cobs + 0.6% Starbio (commercial biodecomposer).
