Abstract
ABSTRACT Linguistic Landscape has been widely used to capture not only linguistic situations but also sociocultural dynamic of society or even a nation. In relation to this, observation on Linguistic Landscape reveals the diversity of local richness, i.e. socio-cultural references, and the local authenticity. This later notion is crucial to establishment of social conceptualization for the English learners. As it contains the rich concepts including the metaphorical extension as is expressed in the commercial signages. This contributes much on the students- creativity in vocabulary building including the students- sensitivity, especially on socio- pragmatic aspect of language use which so far has been widely neglected in ELT. This may break the deadlock of ELT-s stagnancy due to its too much focus on the formal and literal aspect of English. This is certainly relevant with the spirit of curriculum 13 (K 13) on the importance of students- language creativity. This paper is expected to elaborate the dynamic use of authentic materials derived from Linguistic Landscape in relation to the teaching of English by focusing, such as the information structure, the sociocultural references, and the local material authenticity which eventually is expected to strengthen learners- identity.

Abstract
This research aims at analyzing the metaphors contained in the conservation news texts. The conservation news texts in mass media are also considered as a part of linguistic phenomena. In its realization as a text, a conservation news is not only considered as a linguistic phenenenon, but also as a construction of thoughts, ideas, and conducts. The reciprocal relationship between environment and language may be studied through an ecolinguistic study. Within the scope of ecolinguistic study, a living language is used to illustrate, represent, and describe realities in both physical and sociocultural environment. In its relationship with metaphor, ecolinguistics requires an understanding or view or expressive description of meanings. This research employs a desriptive-qualitative design. The research data is in the form of various parts of conservation texts presumably contain metaphors. The research data sources are the conservation news texts taken from the mass medias pages, such as www.unnes.ac.id, Suara Merdeka, and Kompas. The research data is collected through listening to the use of language by utilizing a basic technique of tapping on the conservation news texts obtained from the mass media. Furthermore, this listening technique is equipped with a writing technique of data obtained from various parts of the conservation news texts. The data is analyzed using a determining device from the inside and outside of language. Based on the result of data analysis, the metaphors contained in the conservation news texts are found within the pillars of values and characters, arts and cultures, as well as resources and environments. This research is teoritically beneficial to add the diversity of ecolonguistic studies, especially on the analysis of metaphors contained in the conservation news texts found in the mass media. The result of this research may practically be used by the teachers or lecturers as teaching materials.

Abstract
In 1978 at Taniwel, North Horror (Maluku) was still available for Nakaela speakers. According to sources, the former Nakaela language community is located between the Iha community on the beach and the Alune community on the mountain. The colonial writers seem to ignore or do not know the existence of this language. By omitting the Nakaela language, you may have lost the opportunity to document it thoroughly. In the study 40 years ago, only about 500-600 words were recorded and several paradigms of reflection were collected. However, at that time it was estimated that only 2 or 3 people could speak Naka-ela. The Nakaela language is quite amazing. For example, there are still five different verbal conjugates. It also tracks the system of verbal verbs with subjects appearing as suffixes at the end of their verbs, such as [my words] I laugh or [my words] You are laughing and so on. Complex languages that are different from nearby languages may now be extinct without proper documentation. In fact, there is a writer (Mukhamdanah 2015) who ignores the uniqueness of this language and considers it only a dialect of a language spoken on another island 600 km away from the location on Seram Island! In this paper, you will find a little information about Nakaela language and a description of the sociolinguistic situation and the setting of the data. What can we learn from these reflections on the beauty and loss of these extinct Naka-ela languages? What steps should we take to preserve another language now in danger?

Abstract
Western Europe nations, and especially France, have erased most of their regional languages in the past two centuries, in an effort to improve national unity. Fortunately, Indonesia did not make the same mistake; the national language, Indonesian, ensures the cohesion of the nation, and the 668 regional languages do not represent any danger for the unity of the Republic of Indonesia. Local regional languages of Indonesia, with fewer than 1,000 speakers are obviously in danger of extinction in Indonesia as elsewhere in the world. But, in the long run, Indonesias "big" regional languages are also threatened, due to the urbanization and mixing of the population. In schematization, the strongest regional languages in Indonesia have less than one million speakers, and more than 100,000.

Abstract
This paper aims to understand how speakers of Routa language retain their language, a language of the marginalized in Routa sub-district, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Routa language has long been in the category of ‘language at risk-, because the realm of its use is limited and the number of speakers is smaller than the other languages that exist in the community. The language even gets into the endangered category (disappearing) when viewed from the perspective of the dwindling number of native speakers from generation to generation. Currently, Routa language is not passed on by the older to the younger generation, so in this situation, the language can also be categorized as a language that is in mortal danger (moribund). This study applied ethnographic and sociolinguistic approaches by applying several methods of collecting relevant data such as participant observation, questionnaires, interviews and focus group discussions. The results of this study indicate that the competition of the local languages that occur in the region has led to a dramatically decreased use of Routa as the speakers switch to using other local languages such as Tolaki, Bugis and Toraja. Routa speakers only use the language in a restricted environment only within the family of three generation.

Jokes or banter in the pragmatic science of Leech (1993:228) is a way to offendin a friendly manner (mock-impoliteness). This banter principle is the least important communication principle, but it is manifested in casual conversation, especially among young children when they are swearing. Abstract
The starting point of this article is that the extinction of a particular language will lead to simultenuous loss of various forms of its cultural heritage, especially with regard to the loss of both traditional heritage and oral expressions of its native speakers. Native Papuans are those from the Melanesian race speaking native languages in the Province of West Papua – the ones living in a physical ecology of mostly island clusters, black, and spread throughout the region. In line with current language policy to preserve local languages in Indonesia, it is important to provide valid data on local languages in Indonesia. The findings of the investigation on the local languages in the Province of West Papua are as follows. The local languages in the province can be divided into four language groups: (1) The phylum of Austronesia; (2) the phylum of West Papua; (3) the phylum of the Birds Head of Papua; and (4) The phylum of Trans- West Papua. Those four groups can fall into another two categories of Austronesian and Non-Austronesian. Based on the characteristics of the social environment of the languages, most native languages in the Province of West Papua can be categorized as those having less than 1,000 speakers. Languages having less than 500 speakers are endangered as they are close to extinction. Language codification in the West Papua are based on: (1) the typology of language ecolology; (2) Summer Institut of Linguistics (SIL) database; (3) The Republic of Indonesia-s Language Development and Fostering Agency database.

Abstract
Abstract There are many ways in transferring the message from the source language to the target language in translation activity. This research investigated dominant translation method and the reasons used by the students at one of department of Halu Oleo University. Descriptive quantitative used as method with random sampling taken of 25 students from 35 students as the population. The data collection technique was observation with the instrument of observation sheet. The technique of data analysis used collecting data, verification, analysis and drawing conclusion. The research result showed that dominant method used to deliver the message from source language (Indonesia) to the target language (English) was free translation with total of 16 students. The rest was 7 students used literal translation, semantic for 1 student and 1 student used word for word method. The reason of using dominant method was because free translation gave priority more to the content or the message of source language than its structure with the aim of message clearer received by the user. It concludes that whatever method used in translation, the most importation makes equivalent message from the source language text to the target language text because every language has own cultural aesthetic.
