Abstract
Inclusive education is a real evidence that there is no discrimination in education. The government through regulations has demonstrated support for the implementation of inclusive education at all education levels in Indonesia. That means that inclusive education must also be applied in early childhood education. Therefore, all components involved in early childhood education must be prepared to accept and implement an inclusive education system. Qualitative approach chosen to examine the extent of randomly selected in three provinces (Central Java, East Java and West Java) in implementing inclusive education. Fifteen early childhood education teachers involved in this research. Interviews were conducted with the fifteen teachers. This study identify how teachers understand the implementation of inclusive education, the challenges and obstacles they face in their implementation, and their expectations for better inclusive education. These findings show that all early childhood education understand the importance of inclusive education but not all have accepted children with special needs, limited teacher competency in dealing with children with special needs and the lack skill of making curriculum also a major challenge in implementing inclusive education. The more real government support is needed, such as to hold an inclusive education training to improve teachers competence.

Abstract
Family Involvement in the Implementation of Education in the Early Childhood Unit in Instilling Nationalism Values (Darnowo, M.Pd, Erni Sukmawati Dewi, M.Pd, Yedi Kusmayadi, S.Pd) ABSTRACT Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 30 2017 concerning Family Involvement in Education Units explains that family has a strategic role in supporting the delivery of education to achieve national education goals, and the involvement of families in the administration of education requires synergy among education units, families and communities. This is in line with the thought of Ki Hajar Dewantoro who stated that education was a shared responsibility among education units, families and communities known as the tri education center. The results of the preliminary study indicated that the ECCE units had been conducting a family engagement, though its implementation was not yet optimum, including: 1) the parents meeting with the teacher was only at the time of the distribution of childrens development reports 2). The implementation of parent classes was still lacking in media and methods and did not yet involve parents as resource persons, 3) Inspirational classes did not yet involve parents as resource persons and methods were not varied, 4) Class performances were limited to the performance of children and did not involve parents from the beginning. The survey, in Anggita Putri (2013) concluded that junior and senior high school students in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi regions, considered Pancasila to be no longer relevant as the basis of the State (25.8%), justifying the bombing (7.5%), agreeing enactment of Islamic Sharia (21.1%), approved of radical actions (28.2%), lazy to follow the flag ceremony (83.3%), preferred foreign products (73.3%), did not care about the problem - the problems faced by the nation (63.3%), like schools abroad 56.7%, prefer foreign names (40%), feel western figures are better (33.3%). To answer the above problems, Center for Development of ECCE and Community Education West Java developed a model of involving families in the provision of education in ECCE units in inculcating nationalism values. The model was supposed to encourage ECCE units to seek parental involvement in various activities that support the educational process and inculcating nationalism in children. The model of involving families in the provision of education in ECCE units was an innovative pattern that reflects the synergy among the school, parents and the community. The scope of the model included a description of the management of the family engagement program, and the optimization of family involvement to increase the awareness, role and ability of parents in supporting education and inculcation of childrens nationalism. The model developed was divided into 3 major stages, namely the stages of design, action, and the results stage for the activities of educational unit meetings with parents, parent classes, inspirational classes, and classroom performances. The model aimed to: 1) Increase the value of nationalism of students, 2) instill love in the nations culture in students, 3) reduce individualistic attitudes, consumerism, in some communities, 4) Increase parental participation in teacher meetings, 4) Strengthen Students Nationalism character and values , 5) Increasing parents knowledge, attitudes and skills in family education. The method used in the development of this model was the research and development method, through the collecting, processing, analyzing, and presenting of data, which were carried out systematically and objectively accompanied by activities to develop a product to solve the problems faced. This method was considered suitable bearing in mind the purpose of developing the ECCE and Community Education models, which intended not to find theories, but rather to produce or develop a product that can be used as an input for policy making, as well as a formula for improving the quality of education services, in this case family education services. This model has been tested in 4 locations, Wiyata Bhakti Play Group, Kab. Purwakarta, Dewi Pramanik ECCE unit in City of Bandung, Golden Age Kindergarten, Kab. Subang, Public Kindergarten in Cimahi. The products produced included model, dictates (patriotism, diversity, and nationality), and media (posters, flipcharts, discussion cards). The results of the family involvement program in ECCE units are supposed to have a positive impact on students in the form of having the character of nationalism

Abstract
Fathers- involvement in children education could give a positive feedback for both father and children. Participation of fathers in various children activities rise fathers- awareness about their valued towards their children (Anderson, Aller, Piercy, & Roggman, 2014). Fathers- participation could help children to have better literacy development and cognitive development (Bauman & Wasserman, 2010; Mathwasa & Okeke, 2016a). Fathers- involvement is linked to children socio-emotional and better academic functioning at school (Mathwasa & Okeke, 2016b). Various studies have found that there are various variables which could impact the father presence in their participation of children education activities, including: culture, income, working hours, and socioeconomic backgrounds (Bauman & Wasserman, 2010; Fathonah & Abidin, 2016; Ihmeideh, 2014). Female domination in children education setting limiting father to getting engage in their children-s education (Ihmeideh, 2014; Palm & Fagan, 2008). It is worth to consider for the future study to investigate how to engage fathers- participation in their children education in school-based and home-based activities. For instance, what kind of strategies that should be initiated by institution or educators at school which will be suited for father in Indonesia to getting fathers to become more involved in child development and learning process. In conclusion, studies found that father with young children have a positive attitude towards their children-s education. The domination of female presence in children education setting are limiting fathers to participate in child education. In addition, socio-culture, tradition, time limitation due to working hours, father-s income, and education background of father affect fathers- involvement in child education.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Parents play vital roles in rearing the child-s learning and development especially in the digital era. It is indeed empirical for parents to employ good parenting mechanisms to encourage positive behaviour on the use of the internet among their children. Thus, this research sought to determine the parental mechanisms used by parents towards their children-s internet access. Qualitative research approach was used in the study. Informants were selected by purposive sampling method. Demographic profile was obtained from both parents- and children including the child-s activities and the parental mechanisms towards internet access using unstructured-interview guide. Fisher-s narrative paradigm and Woodworth-s SOR theory were adapted to further illustrate the study-s core concepts. Findings reveal that limiting, supervising, monitoring and orienting the children are the control mechanisms the parents observed in controlling their children-s internet access with the emphasis on the setting of specific time, day and duration for internet usage. Parents check the browsing history of the computer to check the websites their children often visit. It was also found that parents are most concerned on the bad influence that the internet might bring to the children supported by their frequent checking of the websites visited. Hence, parents towards their children are perceived to be as online worriers. Further research shall be conducted to quantify the mechanisms employed by parents and how these mechanisms affect the children with their internet usage.

Abstract
This paper attempts to how gender plays a role in efforts to increase literacy in early childhood. Literacy is not just reading, but reading is the beginning of all. Of course not only reading textual, but also reading illustrated stories and so forth. One sign of an advanced nation is the high interest in literacy. Indonesian childrens interest in reading at PISA ranks 62th out of 72 countries surveyed. This data is not happy news. Boys usually have lower reading interests than girls. One of the efforts to increase childrens literacy based on gender-sensitive curriculum is with story books where the characters are male and female in equal order and role. The method used in this paper is literature study. Which of the previous studies conducted in Australia and other developed countries has implemented gender-based reading media and a big impact in fostering the reading interest of boys and girls. But in Indonesia as a developing country, which for the most part still overrides gender-based learning, finally and perhaps with gender-based media can contribute to efforts foster reading interest for all children in Indonesia.

Abstract
This paper aims to explore the gender construction of children through toys. By using a post-structuralist perspective, researchers look at how power relations are intertwined in childrens play activities that strengthen binary masculinity and femininity through toys. This study uses ethnographic studies conducted in Bandung, Indonesia. Data analysis used grounded theory which produced 164 codes. The findings show that toys used as learning media are often gendered. Children and teachers alike reinforce stereotypes in the selection of toys between boys and girls which actually reinforces gender inequality in Early Childhood Education. This finding also recommends that educators in Early Childhood Education be more gender sensitive and become a reference for implementing a gender sensitive curriculum in Early Childhood Education.

ABSTRACT GENDER CONSTRUCTION ANALYSIS ON EARLY-CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IN KINDERGARTEN (An etnographic research on Early –Childhood Education in kindergarten in Bandung) Dhiya Muthia Mahardikawati, Hani Yulindrasari Gender construction in kindergarten can be seen through various things such as teacher treatment, teacher understanding and teacher habituation in schools. This study discusses the gender construction in kindergartens which is situational formed based on the restrictions and segregation of boys and girls. This research was conducted using the ethnographic focus method with an implementation time of approximately three months in a kindergarten in the city of Bandung. This study uses a gender perspective, and analysis of grounded theory. Researchers look at how habituation done at school can construct gender in children. The results of this study indicate that the binary gender construction that tends to differentiate the behavior of women and men is situational, because in certain circumstances schools also construct gender equality in which boys and girls are given equal opportunities in several ways. But there are still habits that have been applied to children and also continue to preserve the existing traditional gender with stereotypes prevailing in the surrounding environment. Of course, teachers in schools have a role in deconstructing traditional gender so that gender equality or equity can be more easily created in children at school. Abstract
Early stimulation is really needed for the early childhood phase, to all children around the country. Home-based parenting as an action for parents to promote early stimulation outside of preschool is often an efficient way for low-income parents and also parents who lived in remote-area. This research article comes from the best practices of home-based parenting in early childhood practiced in ECCD-RC Yogyakarta-s Program in South Sorong, West Papua, Indonesia. The result of the documentation of best practices showed how parents (especially mothers) can practice easy and also cheap resources around their home to give early stimulation for their children. They also encouraged to use local material and simple resources in their houses to give early stimulation. Since they have a cultural way to work in their home and in the jungle, and during that time they also accompanied by their families, so they also could be doing home-based parenting based on their daily activities. The quality time of communication between mothers and their children also increased. This article also will discuss the effect of the self-concept of being a mother who has limited access to resources but has the main role to give early stimulation for their children.

Abstract
How leadership influences student learning Effective education leadership makes a difference in improving learning. There-s nothing new or especially controversial about that idea. What-s far less clear, even after several decades of school renewal efforts, is just how leadership matters, how important those effects are in promoting the learning of all children, and what the essential ingredients of successful leadership are. Lacking solid evidence to answer these questions, those who have sought to make the case for greater attention and investment in leadership as a pathway for large-scale education improvement have had to rely more on faith than fact. All current school reform efforts aim to improve teaching and learning. But there are huge differences in how they go about it. Some reforms, for example, attempt to improve all schools in a district, state or country at the same time. Other reform attempt to influence the overall approach to teaching and learning within a school, but do so one school at a time. Still others, focused on innovative curricula (in science and mathematics, for example), typically address one part of a school-s program and aim for widespread implementation, while innovative approaches to instruction, such as cooperative learning, hope to change teachers- practices one teacher at a time. As different as these approaches to school reform are, however, they all depend for their success on the motivations and capacities of local leadership. The chance of any reform improving student learning is remote unless district and school leaders agree with its purposes and appreciate what is required to make it work. Local leaders must also, for example, be able to help their colleagues understand how the externally-initiated reform might be integrated into local improvement efforts, provide the necessary supports for those whose practices must change and must win the cooperation and support of parents and others in the local community. So “effective” or “successful” leadership is critical to school reform. This is why we need to know what it looks like and understand a great deal more about how it works.

Abstract
Double burden of malnutrition is still a serious health problem. While we face under-nutrition such as stunting and wasting, we are also struggling to combat obesity. The first 1000 days in life, from pregnancy until 2 years after birth, is a golden period to overcome malnutrition. This was review study to analyse the role of maternal nutritional knowledge in improving nutritional status of children. The review was conducted to the papers related to maternal nutritional knowledge and nutritional status. Since the first 1000 days in life is a targeted period of nutritional intervention, maternal nutritional knowledge has an important role in determining the diet during pregnancy and the diet of children after birth. Healthy diet during pregnancy supports fetal development. Metabolic process is programmed during this period and the programming will shape the adulthood wellbeing. In addition, maternal nutritional knowledge determines the feeding practice to the baby after birth. The nutritional adequacy of children depends on that practice. Thus, maternal nutritional knowledge is strongly associated with nutritional status of children. Educating the mothers for their nutritional knowledge may help to improve the nutritional status of children.

Digital storytelling can be one of alternatives to improve early childhood literacy. In this sense, literacy does not only refer to one-s ability to read or write but also to a learning process. Thus, digital storytelling might not only be beneficial to teach reading and writing to younger children but also making them eager to learn more. Nevertheless, the efforts should not only be burdened to teachers. Parents should also be involved in this effort of building their children-s literacy. However, in order to ensure the success, parents need to be equipped with practical approach and techniques to utilise digital storytelling to enhance their children-s literacy skills. The present study is a conceptual paper which aims to suggest the effectiveness of training parents to utilise digital storytelling in order to improve their children-s literacy. By involving parents, learning will not be confined to what taught at pre-school but also extended to parents-children interaction. In addition, it will strengthen bonds between parents and children.

Abstract
There were some intriguing cases based on the findings at grade B Kindergarten Lab. School UPI Campus District Cibiru. Besides the unmanaged children creative abilities, there were two children having mental disorder. The other, having difficulties interacting with them, they frequently showing aggressive behaviors towards one another, and disrupting the class which later on halting their social-emotional development. The stimulation of creative cognitive behaviors and the application of pragmatic approach to creativity assembled with Elliot-s model of action research aimed to solve those problems and predicted will encourage children overall development also. After continuous treatment with in 3 cycles, they are showing dynamic progress and manage to develop best in the 3rd cycle. Meanwhile, the average occurrence of children creative cognitive skills declines after 1st cycle but somehow makes a little progress in the 3rd cycle. Even though both variables show the same trend, statistically they don-t show good correlations at each other. In conclusion, the pragmatic approach to creativity is somewhat successful to stimulate children-s creative cognitive skills, encourage their overall development, and initiate some changes in classroom climates.

This paper specifically focuses on the concept of inclusive-dialogic religious education that can be offered as alternative choice to cultivate tolerance and multicultural character since early age. This model is based on experience-based learning that more emphasizes on internalization and reflection to contrive mutual respect among students. As an offer how to grow inclusive attitude in kindergarten, this religious education model is appropriately inseminated into two levels, namely structural level by elaborating necessary values into syllabus and material of religious education subject and practical level by contextualizing theory into social reality through observation and visitation. To implement it, this religious education model definitely requires teacher creativity, appropriate method, and stakeholder support as well. As methodology, this paper employs Critical Discourse of Analysis (CDA) approach. In this sense, I would argue that inclusive-dialogic religious education is able to be alternative choice to prevent intolerance and exclusive paradigm since early age.

Abstract
Early Childhood Education (ECE) is an important foundation of quality and sustainable human life in Indonesia. The Presidential Decree Number 60/2013 on Holistic and Integrative Early Childhood Education mandates that there are five basic needs that all Indonesian children should have, namely health, nutrition, education, care and protection. In line with it, relevant stakeholders are expected to collaborate and work hand in hand to realise quality ECE. There are at least three important parties to be involved: family or parents, educational units and health institutions. Of these three, it is important to note four things: first, the quality of the teachers, especially in establishing patterns of communication or interaction between teachers and children. Second, curriculum and methods, such as the ability to create and innovate play-based learning methods. Third, it is important to integrate health institutions in ECE units. Finally, parenting plays an essential role to stimulate childrens development.

Abstract
The first 1000 days of life is a golden period for children-s growth and development. There are various efforts made by humans aimed at optimizing the growth and development of their children in this period. In Balinese Hindu community, the way to optimize childrens growth and development in the first 1000 days period is actualized in the form of traditions packed in the Manusa Yajna ceremony. In general, the Manusa Yajna ceremony aims to build human resources that are useful for the community. But in practice, the Manusa Yajna ceremony is interpreted as a sacred ceremony related to the debt of parents to their ancestors who reborn as their children. Manusa Yajna ceremony beyond the sacred context is a form of education dealing with the efforts to optimize the children-s growth and development through nurturing process. Abstract
Maternal caring in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a concept that has been heavily debated, praised, and also critiqued. From the feminist point of view, maternal caring equals to unpaid labor done mostly by women as teachers in the centers and mothers at home. The growing post-structuralist influence in many western universities has enabled more diverse opinions pointing at the complex tensions between caring practices and women-s roles as carers. What about Indonesia? This paper aims at juxtaposing the theoretical relevance of maternal caring in Indonesia-s ECE. It consists of two methodological parts: the first part will provide a background for this study. It reviews some historical milestones of women-s participation in ECE and how the notion of “care” is constructed across times. The second part will use an ethnographic case study with ECE teachers from Eastern Indonesia. In the second part, I present how concepts of caring brought by the ECE expansion position women critically at the center; yet, their struggles are ambivalent and remain invisible. I argue that maternal caring is a discursive practice, producing meanings that are varied, fragmented, incoherent, competing but also hybridized and unequal.

Medan, North Sumatera Model of Children Readiness in Facing Volcanic Disasters aims as a reference for learning activities about disaster response and disaster awareness early on in the PAUD Unit which is expected to help children reduce the impact of volcanic disasters and preparedness in facing disasters that can come at any time without being realized. Trials were conducted in four institutions in Karo District, namely PAUD GBKP Ndokun Siroga, PAUD Djedidja, PAUD Kuta Rayat, and PAUD Wijayanta which felt the direct impact of the eruption of Mount Sinabung. The tests provided were simulations of ways to save themselves when a mountain erupted, such as how to wear a mask, recognize signs of a volcano eruption, recognize signs of evacuation, gathering points and activities carried out at the gathering point led by teachers waiting for help to arrive. Learning activities are carried out using the story telling method, the singing method, and the simulation method. From the results and discussion after the child is given a simulation and measured the attitude of the child facing a volcano disaster, it can be said that the child has a spiritual attitude, social attitude, knowledge, and excellent skills where the child is no longer afraid, confused, anxious when the volcano experiencing an eruption. Each child understands what to do when a volcano erupts and where to go when an earthquake occurs.
