Abstract
In conducting water wave simulations, the correct implementation of boundary conditions is important to obtain accurate wave dynamics in the computational domain. For assessment of coastal structures such as breakwaters, where both transmitted and reflected waves are present in the computational domain, we often need to observe simulation behavior for somewhat long period of time. In this case, applying a transparent boundary condition is necessary, a condition that allows transmitted wave propagates to the right, whereas reflected waves propagates to the left, at all times. In this paper, we propose a transparent boundary condition which derives from the embedded wave generation method of Liam et al. [2014]. In this paper, the method is implemented to the momentum conservative scheme of the shallow water equations, and conduct a simulation of wave reduction due to a submerged breakwater with certain dimension. Further, we measured the reflection and transmission coefficients and compare it with the analytical formulas.

Abstract
Accurate and high-resolution water depth information are important for wide range of coastal research and monitoring. In this case, providing an accurate bathymetric map is a major challenge for remote sensing. This study developed and evaluated a semi-parametric regression to extract depth information using various image datasets (Landsat 8, Sentinel 2A and Worldview 2). We compared the ability of these imageries to map depth information using generalized additive model (GAM). GAM is a semi-parametric generalized linear model which allow for nonlinear relationships between covariates and the target variable. We used the Morotai shallow water area in Indonesia to apply GAM in deriving depth information. We found that higher image spatial resolution results in higher mapping accuracies. This study highlights the potential of selected images and mapping techniques for deriving bathymetric data.

Abstract. Changes in pH, temperature, and salinity in seawater can indicate the occurrence of ocean acidification. This study aims to study changes in acidity that occur in Ohoililir waters, Southeast Maluku, which is part of the Banda Sea. This research was conducted in March 2019 as a study of the prefix of oceanic equities in the Southeast Maluku region which is part of the Banda Sea which is currently one of the priority researches in Indonesia, and sampling at 10 points associated with coral reefs and seagrass ecosystems. The results obtained were pH ranging from 8.567 – 8.851 with an average of 8.6879, temperatures ranged from 29.285 – 30.281oC with an average of 29,7412°C, and salinity ranged from 33.041-33.33 with an average of 33,2355. Its shows that pH, temperature, and salinity of Ohoililir waters are still a good range for the life of marine biota. The correlation between pH and temperature is -0.097 and the correlation between pH and salinity is in the range of -0.054 which indicates has no relationship between pH and temperature and salinity. Beside that, pH has negative correlation to temperature and salinity. This shows the need for further research on the relationship between these three or more parameters to see the effect on ocean acidification.

Abstract
The Makassar Strait is one of the main gate of Arus Lintas Indonesia (Arlindo) which carries water masses from the Pacific Ocean and causes Makassar Strait waters affected by the El Nina and La Nina phenomenon. This study aims to observe the oceanographic characteristics of the Makassar Strait when El Nino and La Nina phenomena occur by looking at the changes in temperature, salinity, and currents from 2009-2010. The data used in this research are sea surface temperature data (CMEMS), Salinity (CMEMS) and current speed (CMEMS) which are processed using Panoply applications and Sea Surface Temperature data from Climate Prediction Center (NOAA) processed into Oceanic Nino Index (ONI). In the period from 2009 - 2019 there were three times the ENSO anomaly phenomenon, which began with the El Nino phenomenon from September 2009 to March 2010, then La Nina in July 2010 to May 2011, and El Nino in May 2015 to May 2016 In each phase, the dynamics of oceanographic characteristics occur in the waters of the Makassar Strait which cause fluctuations in sea surface temperature, salinity, and currents that have interacted to each other

Abstract
Rip currents are hydrodynamic events that vary alongshore and important to be well-understood for its uniqueness and safety issues on recreational beaches. In this study, bathymetrically-controlled rips are the main focus as this type is commonly found on Indonesia-s coastal areas, particularly in the south coast of West Java. This unique hydrodynamics feature affects sediment characteristic, particularly at the rip channel as the lower part tends to have coarser sediment due to larger friction. Such complex interactions need thorough investigation, therefore, a study was conducted in Pangandaran which well-known for its rip currents. Field observation was made to collect sediment sample on a cross-shore direction which shows finer sediment on upper rip channel and coarser sediment on the lower part with a diameter size of 0.35 mm and 0.37 mm, respectively. In addition, simple simulations were also made to illustrate rip current movement on a channel. The result shows that in the strongest current area with over than 3.0 m/s current speed, i.e. on the lower part of the rip channel, bed shear stress is found to be the strongest. It is been noticed as well that the bed shear stress forms a pattern which delineates overall movement of a rip current. Furthermore, the variation of bed shear stress is revealed as the main cause of sediment distribution along the cross-shore direction. Therefore, this simple approach qualitatively illustrates the dynamics of a rip current phenomenon.

Abstract
Mahakam Delta is a delta with unique characteristics. As a result of the continuous sedimentation process, the delta can be said as a complex delta because it has dozens of tributaries that are interconnected and flow into the sea to their estuaries. Mahakam Delta estuary is a meeting place for mixing masses of water from freshwater rivers and high salinity rivers. The aim of this study is to determine the water column stratification seen from the salinity and temperature parameters in the Mahakam Delta estuary. This study uses the ECOMSED model which is run for 40 days (July 7 to August 16, 2018) with tides and river discharge as the generating force. The simulation results show that stratification is predominantly influenced by differences in salinity between the layers. The strongest stratification is located in the upper Mahakam Delta line with a difference in salinity is 8 ppm from surface to bottom layer.

Abstract
In this research, Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) method is conducted to assess the dynamics of Indian Ocean characteristics, (i.e. sea surface temperature (SST) anomaly and equatorial wind), as the response of IOD for last 30 years (1988 – 2017). Based on the EOF analysis, IOD explains about 23.1% of the total variation of interannual SST anomaly (EOF second mode). While due to the equatorial wind components, IOD explains about 40.9% of the total anomalous zonal wind variation (EOF first mode) and 21.8% of the total anomalous meridional wind variation (EOF second mode). Based on the EOF and cross correlation analysis, its obtained some accurate indices and able to describe the dynamics of Indian Ocean during IOD events, such as SSTdyn (for SST anomaly dynamics), Udyn (for zonal wind anomaly dynamics), and Vdyn (for meridional anomaly dynamics). Moreover, based on the composite analysis of these Indian Ocean dynamics indices, during the five (six) positive (negative) IOD events from 1988 to 2017, the negative (positive) SST anomaly in the eastern Indian Ocean (0°–15°S dan 90°–120°E) followed by the positive (negative) SST anomaly in the western Indian Ocean (10°N–10°S dan 40°–60°E) and the central Indian Ocean (5°S–10°S dan 70°–80°E) occur in June and reach the peak in September-October. The anomalous SST is also accompanied by anomalous wind in the region of 5°N–10°S dan 70°–100°E, which starts by the occurance of anomalous northerlies (southerlies) meridional wind in June-July, continues by the occurance of anomalous easterlies (westerlies) zonal wind in the following month, and reaches the peak in October.

Abstract
One of the obstacles in utilization of rubber seed oil as a raw material for biodiesel production is contain of high free fatty acid about 12.19%. The process of biodiesel production from rubber seed oil would be more effective and efficient if done through a process of esterification and transesterification using heterogeneous acid catalyst because it is less corrosive, easily separated, and can reduce environmental pollution. However, the catalyst is relatively expensive. Therefore, it needs more economic alternatives. One of which is a heterogeneous acid catalyst from rice water. There are three production process, extracting the oil from seeds, catalyst preparation, and biodiesel production. The results of Biodiesel product contains methyl ester compounds of palmitic acid and oleic acid after going through transesterification process which means that the reaction was run. The EDS test results reported an SO3 group as part of a cluster -SO3H of catalyst from rice water.

Abstract
First-principles methods of calculations of electronic and optical properties of impurity ions in solids allow for a quantitative treatment of microscopic crystal field effects. In other words, they give a possibility of calculating the impurity ions energy levels for different geometric configurations of impurity centers, including changing chemical bond lengths and angles between those chemical bonds. From these calculations, it is possible to extract the distance dependence of the crystal field strength 10Dq, estimate the electron-vibrational interaction constants, Jahn-Teller stabilization energy, Huang-Rhys factors, Stokes shift between the absorption and emission spectra. The obtained results can be used not only for explanation of the already existing experimental results, but for the prediction of optical properties of new materials. In this presentation several examples of such calculations will be given in detail [1-6] along with discussion of practical importance of the obtained results and their potential predictive power. Abstract
The aim of this work was to synthesis zeolite from kaolinite as a source of silica and alumina by exploring the effect of different crystallization temperatures at 100˚C, 120˚C, and 140˚C in a hydrothermal condition. This work focused on the phase transformation and morphological changes from kaolinite to zeolite using hydrothermal technique. The characterization of starting material, intermediate, and final product were performed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). The characterization results showed the transformation of kaolinite to amorphous metakaolin after calcined at 900˚C and in the presence of sodium hydroxide as activating agent; the amorphous metakaolin was successfully reconstructed into synthesized crystal zeolite. Synthesized zeolite type A was produced at 100˚C while sodalite was synthesized at 120˚C and 140˚C. Following this, the synthesized zeolites were modified with silver ion by using ion exchange method. Disc diffusion technique (DDT) revealed that silver ion-exchanged zeolite showed significant antibacterial effect against Escherichia coli ATCC 11229 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538. It was found that, zeolite can be synthesized using economical raw material and modified with silver ion to enhance its antibacterial activity.

Abstract
Population growth in Indonesia is currently experiencing a high increase. Those things will affect the increase of transportation needs, so that might increase the traffic volume. Traffic volume is needed in transportation planning. Nowadays, the manual method is usually used by field observers using a calculation tool called a counter to get traffic volumes. With the high of traffic volumes, manual traffic volume calculations are less effective. For this reason, in this study the researchers modified the program to create a vehicle detection program and classify vehicles according to MKJI 1997 on a Java-based off-street called U-COUNTER (Rural Area). The method that used in this research is Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) method that base in image processing. In this program will attack of video input in the morning with 6 m height and 7 m, as well as video input in the afternoon with 6m and 7m height. The calculation results on the program will compared with manual calculations to get the accuracy and percent error values. The highest accuracy results obtained in this program are 76.48% with an error value of 23.52% for video 6 m in the morning. For the lowest accuracy results found on the 7 m video in the afternoon with an accuracy of 43% with an error value of 57%, this caused by congested traffic during video capture.
