Abstract
This article explores the experiences of three pre-service English teachers from Philippines who were assigned in a private elementary school in Indonesia as part of a pre-service teacher exchange program. Working in a context that did not share the similar first or second language, the three teachers used English, their second language, as a lingua franca in communicating with the students. Drawing upon data from their teaching diaries, class observation, and in-depth interviews, this article reveals that using English in the classroom was challenging because English was neither the first nor the second language of their students. Three narratives from the teachers are also recounted to shed some light on their strategies to bridge the communication gap. The findings further indicate that their participation in a short Bahasa Indonesia for Non-Native Speakers program played an important role in their language adjustment. Implication of the study for English language teaching in Indonesia is also presented.

Abstract
The shift from GE (General English) teaching to ESP (English for Specific Purposes) teaching in higher education has been deemed as a necessity for the teaching of English in non-English departments as the latter focuses on equipping learners with communicative language skills which are highly related to a certain field of study, future careers, and learners- specific needs. Although the decision to employ ESP program in non-English departments has indicated a clear direction towards the achievement of desired and specified learning outcomes, it cannot be denied that compared to other subjects which are closely related to the field of study, it still lacks attention from the stakeholders. This paper attempts to explore issues which revolve around the teaching of ESP in non-English departments. The data were gathered by interviewing five ESP teachers in non-English departments of three private universities and one state university in Yogyakarta. This qualitative study has yielded findings which become recurring issues concerning the practice of ESP in non-English departments, i.e. lack of needs analysis, lack of teachers- trainings, lack of specialty knowledge on the subject matter, large classes, and learners- varied competencies.

Abstract
Audiovisual Translation or AVT is a kind of translation characterized by the interaction of text (whether oral or written) with sound and image. One prominent example of an audiovisual translation is film translation. The preferred method of translation depends on the tradition of target language, genre, and other kind of tv programs in a country. In the Philippines, dubbing is the most used in recording an AVT. The translation of tv shows and films was prominent in the Philippines that was accepted by the Filipinos. This paper aims to determine and analyze the process in dubbing films from one language to another. In this case, from english to filipino language. Qualitative design was used in this study while indigenous method was used in determining a production team as informant. Creativoices Production was chosen because based on research they are the top production team who does dubbing of films in the country. Concept of Multimodality and Skopos Theory are used as the theoretical framework of the study. The process of dubbing in the Philippines is consist of a.) production formation, b.) translation of script, c.) voice talent selection, d.) actual dubbing session, e.) editing and revising, and f.) screening. The work of the translator does not only end in the process of translating the script. Hence, his work is very vital towards the very end of the process. Unlike any other kinds of translation where one must be faithful to the text, a translator in AVT does not only focus on the script. One must consider other semiotic resources found in the film just like the video itself (actions or movements in the film), and the audio (voice talents). A series of adjustment was made most especially to the words and dialogs in the film. Therefore, AVT is a collaborative work- the translator as the one who does in translating the script, the voice talent who renders the dialog in a film, and the sound engineer whose responsible for technicalities.

Abstract
Until a few years ago, most practitioners and scientists still argued that security, peace and conflict resolution issues had nothing to do with gender. But the facts show that women and children tend to be victims in situations of war and conflict. Even some militias allowed their troops to rape women in compensation for wages against the enemy. Other militia use rape as a weapon of war. These terrible phenomenon made women aware that they had to move, to change their own destiny, which had originally become victims, now had to become agents of change, as peace builders, peacekeepers, and to participate in peace negotiations. This research aim to analyze why women need to increase their role in the peace and conflict resolution agenda. More specifically will examine about the contribution of Indonesian Female Peacekeeper on Indonesian Peacekeeping Forces (Kontingen Garuda/Konga). The following paper will use a feminist theoretical framework in analyzing the issue at hand. Gender analysis will be used to look at the role and impact experienced by men and women in war and conflict, and the role that women can play in the peace and conflict resolution agenda. It argues that the change of the nature of warfare, from mainly inter-state to predominantly intra-state, and the change of the concept of security from national security to human security requires the ability of peacekeepers to get closer to the community. The involvement of women in peacekeeping forces will increase community acceptance, and optimizes the militaries ability to fulfill its role in protecting democratic societies.

Abstract
The main factor causing the decline in water storage capacity of civil infrastructures especially reservoirs in Indonesia is the high rate of sedimentation. Land degradation by erosion in the reservoir catchment area is contributed to the high sedimentation. Mitigation on sedimentation problems can be carried out by estimating the erosion rate and sediment yields occurring as well as controlling erosion and sedimentation. This study aims to identify the rate of erosion and sedimentation that occurs in the Logung Reservoir catchment area and assess its countemeasures. RUSLE-GIS based grid model is applied to estimate the erosion. Several erosion and sedimentation countermeasure scenarios were analyzed to determine the significance level of erosion reduction and sedimentation that occurred. The results showed that the rate of erosion in the upstream watershed of Logung Reservoir was 803,823 m3 / year while the sediment rate was obtained at 177,568 m3 / year. Sediment countermeasure with land use arrangements provides more significant results than with the construction of check dams. Construction of check dam is only able to reduce sedimentation by around 22%. Land use arrangements can reduce sedimentation by 45%. While the combination of controls between the two methods can reduce up to 87%.

Abstract
Agricultural financing remains a prominent obstacle many farmers in Indonesia are currently struggling with. Financial aid from formal institutions is often inaccessible for small farmers. In addition to this phenomenon, farmers in Indonesia still have to deal with the middlemen, causing farmers to suffer from price injustice upon their harvested commodities. Referring to the era of Prophet Muhammad SAW in which masjid (mosque) served as the center of economic activities, this paper aims to revive the former power of masjid to solve the ongoing agricultural problems and to bring out more prosperity to small farmers as a part of the whole ummah. A case study was conducted in Indonesia by employing literature survey of agricultural financing cases and the role of masjid as an economic entity built upon and underpinned by Islamic law. This research finds that the revival of masjid as the center of economic activities can be carried out by optimizing the funds they receive in the form of infaq and shadaqah. Mainly, the collected funds are allocated for renovation process of the masjid itself. Only a small portion of it goes back to the community. We designed a scheme to turn infaq and shadaqah into something more productive which may empower farmers. Thus, they may have the chance to detach themselves from middlemen and access more funds to finance their farming works. This is called establishing brotherhood between masjid. Inspired by the establishment of brotherhood between Muhajirin and Anshar back then, the brotherhood between masjid sheds a light on how infaq and shadaqah from one masjid can be transferred to another masjid and used as aids for farmers. Such bond of brotherhood may also open a new pipeline to distribution of agricultural products. Regarding to the fact that this research is in conceptual context, a suggestion made for future researchers and practitioners to verify this concept in actual condition.

Abstract
Due to construction planning of medium speed railway in Indonesia, a new standard of track quality is needed. The construction of medium speed railway with 160 km/h of highest speed concepted by Indonesian government require a thorough research and examination on construction technical, maintenance and operational pattern. And The most important thing that need to be thoroughly assessed is TQI as behalf of track quality. TQI is Track Quality Index that could be a standard to evaluating track quality. Another functions of TQI are degradation monitoring, determining maintenance method, summarising the whole track condition related to safety factor and ride comfort. TQI is obtained by measurement using special rollingstock i.e track geometry car. The recent TQI in Indonesia cannot made as standard on medium speed railway because it is only prevailed for 120 km/h of maximum speed on existing track. Hence, research and assessment is needed to determine a value of TQI. TQI is deviation values that summarised from 4 parameters i.e track gauge, cross level, longitudinal and lateral. The method used in this research is PT. KAI method by decreasing tolerance range of its parameters. Hopefully by using that method, the result of this research would considerable as reference of upcoming researches

Abstract
Hydrograph is a diagram, curve, or graph that illustrates the relationship between discharge flow parameters and time. Estimating flood hydrograph is the main analysis on river constructions design. Synthetic unit hydrograph (SUH) is one of method to design a flood discharge when there is no dischrage series data in a long time. In fact, the SUH methods does not always provide an accurate result. In this research, flood hydrograph analysis using Nakayasu, ITB, GAMA-1, and Snyder methods are applied on the upper Progo River basin. Daily rainfall in January 2012 data is used and is divided into 3 conditions, namely Case 1 (dated on 1-7 January), Case 2 (dated on 8-13 January), and Case 3 (dated on 20-26 January). The streamflow data from Borobudur AWLR station is applied for model calibration. The Thiessen polygon is used for analyzing the average rainfall and ABM method for converting the daily to hourly data. The results show that the peak discharge using Nakayasu, Snyder and GAMA-1 method is 296.5% greater than observed data but the result using ITB method is 68.3% smaller than observed data. The parameter calibration is an important step fordesigning peak discharge in a practical work.

Abstract
Textbook is an important tool that cannot be separated from the process of teaching English. Many teachers in Indonesia choose to make their own book for some reasons. However, the quality of the book is sometimes questioned and many textbook writers were not aware of gender representation in making textbook. Therefore, textbook should be carefully selected to provide proper materials for the learners. This study was intended to evaluate the gender representation in English for Informatics textbook used in teaching ESP for Informatics students. The framework employed in this study was proposed by Porreca. There are some aspects to evaluate gender representation namely the omission rate, firstness, occupations, nouns designating for female and male, masculine generic construction, and adjectives. The result of the study showed that males are represented more in some aspects.

Abstract
Massive open online courses (MOOCs) are increasingly becoming a means of promoting autonomy, openness, and diversity in university-level learning (Wu & Lee, 2014). However, MOOCs reportedly suffer from staggering drop-out rates reaching 90% (LeClaire & Ferrer, 2014). One reason for such low student engagement is the poor quality of the MOOCs- design (Tay & Musib, 2017). Therefore, it is important to improve the quality of MOOC materials, including instructional videos (Yousef, Chatti, Schroeder, & Wosnitza, 2014). Meanwhile, research on how different formats of content presentation in instructional videos impact student engagement (Guo, Kim, & Rubin, 2014) and learning outcomes is scarce (Li, Kizilcec, Bailenson, & Ju, 2016; Zhang, Zhou, Briggs, & Nunamaker, 2006; Chen & Wu, 2015). The current study therefore contributes to this line of research by evaluating the impact of different formats of content presentation in instructional videos on student engagement and learning outcomes. The study employed videos from the iMOOC (internal MOOC accessible only to the universitys staff and students) ELC003 What-s Your Point? Strategies for Writing Clearly and Concisely created by three instructors from the universitys Centre for English Language Communication (CELC). The participants were twenty-two undergraduate Singaporean students who were asked to watch six instructional videos from the iMOOC and complete relevant quizzes. The study had an experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and delayed test. Findings suggest that the most engaging video format was the Innovative format (character animation and music). However, the Traditional format (PowerPoint slides with teacher talking head and voiceover) was also acknowledged for its informative, new, and relevant content along with interesting and non-distracting visuals. The respondents- learning outcomes were not significantly correlated to video formats. The study generated recommendations relevant to improving instructional video design not only in this iMOOC, but for MOOCs in general.

Abstract
Removal of water from the pavement structure provides many benefits to reduce damage on the road. Base or sub-base is a part of pavement structure, which will infiltrate the rainfall water before enter to subgrade. The research is focused on evaluating the material properties of sub-drainage layer based on Bina Marga, The Indonesian Highway Agency, Spesification 2010. This code is providing the gradation range which can be used for evaluating the aggregate of the sub-drainage layer. A series of experimental test was performed for an A class Aggregate to evaluate their performance based on the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) and modified permeability testing. The sample used in this study were consist of eight variations of A Class Agregate. Furthermore, this variation also divided into two categories which are three variations based on Bina Marga Spesification 2010 and five variations outside of Bina Marga Specification. All of the sample will be tested and evaluated to obtain the most suitable aggregate for the sub-drainage layer, which has the highest permeability and the lowest reduction of CBR value. Based on the experimental test, it was found that the average permeability was increased as the increase size of the aggregate and decrease percentage of the filler. Moreover, the bearing ratio of the sample also increase as the size of the aggregate and percentage of filler increase.

Abstract
Some of the factors that cause premature damage to the flexible pavement system in Indonesia was allegedly caused by several things including the equation Equvalent axle load (EAL) that are not in accordance with the situation in Indonesia, where the majority of heavy vehicles carrying excess load (overloaded). The value of EAL which is based on the theory of permanent deformation in flexible pavement is highly dependent on the value of the modulus of elasticity (E) the structure of the pavement, vertical strain , and the deflection (d) right under the tire load and tire pressure (q) certain. By testing the value of a deflection in flexible pavement before and after a given pavement overlay in the suspect will affect the equation EAL. Pavement deflection testing was done at the time before and after a given flexible pavement overlay. Implementation of the testing was done using a Falling Weight Defflectometer (FWD) with a variety of loading. The data of test results that the value of the deflection (d), the modulus of elasticity (E) and vertical strain further analyzed to obtain equation form EAL. The analytical method used to obtain the form EAL equation is linear regression analysis and non linear. Based on the analysis results will be obtained form the new EAL equation. From the research analysis it is obtained that the power rank value for applying the maximum load limit regulation shall be as follows EAL= (p/8.16)^5.18 before overlay to the type single axle dual wheel (SADW) and EAL = (p/8.16)^4.63 after overlay to the type single axle dual wheel (SADW). As for the type tandem axle dual wheel (TADW) EAL =(p/13.76)^5.22 before overlay and EAL = (p/13.76)^4.55 after overlay.

Abstract
One of the causes of failure of a dam structure is the occurrence of seepage triggered by high pore water pressure that occurs in the body of the dam. Pore water pressure can cause the shear strength of the constituent material to decrease. In the Panohan Dam seepage occurs on the downstream slope of the dam which can disrupt the security level of the Panohan Dam. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the pore water pressure and seepage in the body of the Panohan Dam by using two methods namely analysis using numerical method (finite element method) in the planning stage and analysis based on the reading of piezometer and v-notch instrument data that installed on the body of Panohan Dam. The results of the two analyzes are compared to determine the condition of pore water pressure and seepage when planning stage is still in accordance with current conditions. Pore water pressure and seepage analysis was carried out on the cross A - A Panohan Dam which indicated seepage on the downstream slope of the dam using several variations of reservoir water level. The comparison results show that pore water pressure in numerical modeling is greater than the pore pressure value based on current piezometer readings. However, the seepage discharge of the v-notch readings on the dam body is greater than the seepage discharge that calculated by the numerical model. Based on the total amount of seepage discharge that occurs in the v-notch and measurements on several seepage spots on the dam body, Panohan dam is still safe from seepage problems that could disrupt the stability of the dam.

Abstract
This paper is dealing with the evaluation of protection coordination of over current relay and ground fault relay in distribution system. Protection systems that are widely used in distribution systems are over current relays (OCR) and ground fault relays (GFR). The two protection systems are tasked with protecting the distribution transformer against short circuit fault on the distribution network. Given the importance of the protection system in ensuring the continuity of electricity distribution, its performance needs to be evaluated in a certain period of time. Evaluation of the protection system performance includes the time and current settings of the pick-up relay, whether it is in accordance with the IEEE standard. In this study, OCR and GFR performance evaluations were carried out in the Sleman distribution system, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Relay current settings and pick-up times are evaluated using ETAP software. In this evaluation, the distributed distribution network experiences phase to ground and symmetrical three phases faults. The ETAP evaluation results show that both OCR and GFR relays still work well according to the IEEE standard.
